Do not buy the book for this class, we didn't use it. Her tests are solely based on the lecture notes which you should buy to pass the class. Although she is nice, she gives really difficult tests so STUDY!!! She tests on small details. She is nice, but does not accept late work what so ever.

Purchase her lecture notes, it's very helpful. She loves what she does and wants you to learn. There were 2 field trips and her exams are multiple choice, short answer, and essay. If you study you'll do fine she'll give you more points for details (e.g. +11.5/8) which helps your grade. Book is not really necessary. You'll do fine if you dont slack

This class is not hard, but you have to study in order to receive an A. THe book is not really needed, but her lecture notes are definitely important (it can be purchased). Class attendance is mandatory for lectures, and we go on a lot of trips and have a lot of hands on experience. All u need in this class is to work hard and you'll do well.

I LOVED THIS CLASS!! The only teacher I've had at PCC who felt like a mentor. Lots of hands on experience and field trips, the labs are actually enjoyable, she will pass around tons of samples so you really "GET" what she is talking about. Never used the book, lecture notes are a MUST. Dr. Larison will make you excited to go to class. BEST TEACHER!

VERY HARD CLASS!! We didn't use the 100 dollar book, we had to buy the lecture notes to pass the class and all we did for 2 1/2 hours was listen to her lecture. If you are a "hands on learning" person then don't take this class. I got an "A" on my labs and a "D" on tests and didn't pass. HARD TESTS!! THEY ARE FIll IN TESTS!

If your shooting for a C, go ahead. She's picky when it comes to grading. Her tests are pretty hard. The labs can be fun. I wouldn't take her again. You're gonna have to study hard to get A's.

Larison is one of the best Bio teachers. She goes out of her way 2 help u study outside of class & is always clear on her answers until u get them. U have like 4-5 tests including the final & she grades by ur improvement! If u start of with F as long as she sees ur tests grades havE improved and get an A on your final u can get an A in her class!!!

AWESOME teacher. I took her class over the summer and I had never been to college before (high school student) and she was very helpful and nice. She could get irritable at times but she seemed to like me. just don't do anything stupid. Got an A, just work hard for it. Study a lot. Don't goof off in her classes. Her lecturs are fun. LOL

Larison is a very irritable woman, so don't do anything to annoy her, or else you're gonna be yelled at and humiliated in front of the whole class. Other than that, the class is a way easy A. Don't bother buying the textbook: the test are based almost entirely on her lecture notes.

She's not a easy teacher in pcc. Give quizes for every labs and lots of tests. I don't recommend you take her class. She only read her notes for lecture which is not helpful for your test. But easy to pass(with a C).

She can be rough sometime, like yelling at you in front of the whole class for little thing. Don't take the monring class since she's very ill-temper in the morning for some reason. Her lecture is somewhat easy to listen to but she can be really mean and stubborn. DONT buy the text, everything is from the little pink booklet she sells.

Her tests are tedious. Instead of one multiple choice answer there's usually several. Her notes are disorganized & she reads off the notes (verbatim for 3 hours!) in a monotone voice. She hardly allows questions & questions are asked, she gets annoyed and off track from her notes. Plus she treats college students like gradeschool kids.

she's a pretty easy teacher. everything is basically laid out for you. there is a book of notes that is basically all that is needed for the class and the exams. just pay attention when she lectures and take notes. not hard at all.

she's great. got an easy A. so gave out a lot of extra points from all those trips and labs and stuff. she loves creativity, bonus points for that. u don't need to buy a book for this class. her lectures are important, and her notes too. take extra notes down like some examples she gave out.
