She is very impressive with her knowledge on what she teaches. Ask her questions, read what she asks you to read, engage in conversation, and you'll leave each class feeling fulfilled. For lack of a better expression, she's Historian GOALS.

Comment:

She is really knowledgable in the material. Her class is an easy pass if you know how to take notes. Attendance is necessary to take good notes on your own. The class consists of a midterm, final, 2 papers, and a short research assignment. This class is really interesting and I learned a lot! I recommend taking her if you need the credit.

Very goof professor, maybe my favorite in the department. You will learn a lot. As a previous review mentioned. she's good about making you not feel like an idiot when you say something that isn't very intelligent in the discussion. She's a fairly lenient grader, though she does assign a good amount of not particularly easy reading.

I took History of England and loved it. She is very clear in what she expects of you as far as reading, gives you two papers, a quiz and two exams. The exams are fill in the blank and short and full essay. She gives excellent feedback on your papers and is always available for individual help. Made the course interesting and engaged the class.

Stuart Eng.(capstone)-> Paterson is a scholar's prof. - she is all business. She is knowledgable and keeps the discussion moving. Need help on your paper? Paterson is there to help. By the end of the term, I felt confident in my history writing capabilities. Recommended.

Seems a bit quiet and reserved, but actually spurs good class discussion, never discouraging. Even if you say something that isn't quite clear she'll try and decipher it without being insulting. Well informed (though sometimes forgetful on certain details) in her subject. Papers require quite a bit of reading, but are not too demanding either.
