I love Dr. Bullock, she is such a great professor and I really enjoy hearing about her experiences, that being said, this class is tough. Expect to read the chapters and pay really good attention in class or you will bomb her exams. I thought what I got from this class was well worth the time spent studying.

This teacher comes off strong, but really isn't that bad. You must go to class to pass. As long as you pay attention and take good notes in class, you'll be fine. Group projects during class help a lot.

I have never had a worse experience with a professor. She has test questions over random details from the textbook that you won't be able to remember, her lecture slides (which she goes way to fast on) and the material she says but you cannot retain because you're too busy trying to take notes on the lecture slide. She is also just very rude. 0/10

She's a great professor and it was a great class, but you can't slack off. The tests were not easy and required a lot of studying. Also, to understand it all and not miss anything for the test, you must take notes! She puts emphasis on dates, people, and random facts, not broad picture stuff. We had a few group projects, but they were very easy.

Lots of quizzes, which really drop your grade if you don't do them or don't do well on them. Exams weren't too difficult since a lot of the questions came from quizzes. Sometimes she would get into bad moods and it would ruin the mood of class. She brought candy, which was fun. She felt difficult to approach at times, but she was a good teacher.

Don't take this class just to fulfill general ed classes. Her tests are half lecture and half book that contain very specific questions. Her lectures are heavy and hard to keep up with. Do everything you can do to fulfill that credit with a different class.

If you're thinking about taking JCOM 1500 I do not recommend this professor. She is very intense and you will learn more about the history of print rather than Mass Communications. It is by far my least favorite class. Her tests are extremely difficult as textbook readings, lecture notes and independent study is all included on the test,

Her lectures were well planned, but I found it hard to pay attention and stay interested. There is Q and A participation, but otherwise it is lecture heavy. You must go to class, and there are lots of notes to memorize. The group projects were my favorite days (and I don't usually like group projects). It was a broad history of media.

Dr. Bullock is very knowledgable in the topics she teaches. She talks very fast and throws a lot of information at you in lectures so it can be hard to stay on top of notes, but if you do you'll be fine. Lots of reading from the textbook but there's no homework outside reading.

I really enjoyed her lectures. They were well thought out and put together. She didn't just read off of slides like many professors do. Time went by pretty quickly and she made sure her students knew the material that she was teaching. I would definitely take from her again. Make sure to go to class lectures for notes and participation.

Dr. Bullock is personable when speaking one on one, however her lectures are very fast and hard to follow. I taught myself the majority of the material from this class. I think that Dr. Bullock is nice enough she just does not use canvas nor are there many grades in the grade book. Overall, I would not recommend taking this class.

She is awesome! I loved her class so much. I found her lectures very interesting and helpful for the tests. She is very clear on what she wants from you. She can talk fast and if PowerPoint doesn't work you have to listen carefully to take notes. If you pay attention in class then it is super easy to pass. Group project can be fun.

Relatively easy but boring. I didn't feel that the reading was necessary, as the majority of test questions based on the reading were common sense. Bullock moves quickly & acts like she doesn't have time for questions. There is almost 0 guidance on tests, even with review sessions. She love her "quirky facts" that are not very interesting.

Dr. Bullock was awesome! You'll use the textbook a lot. The exams are easy if you pay attention in class and do the reading. Her grading criteria is pretty clear, but she didn't put the course up on Canvas until after the final so I didn't know my exact grade. She's fair and comes across tough but isn't that hard. She really knows her stuff.

Professor Bullock is fierce. She was my favorite professor because she's interesting and interested in what she teaches. She will call on you randomly for credit and there will be outside group work. Her tests are half based on textbook reading and half based on lectures so be sure to stay on top of both

This class was pretty hard for me. READ READ READ and go to review sessions before tests. Review sessions help and it is almost impossible to end with a good grade if you don't read. She does random Q&A in class and if you aren't there you don't get points. Other than that, she knows what she's talking abut and is passionate with what she teaches.
