This prof. is very tough. Unless you know a good deal of french you should avoid all French at SUNY Potsdam. All the prof's are very unhelpful. I recommend Spanish if you made the unfortunate choice to attend SUNY Potsdam.

It very hard especialy if you havent taken the french language course in along time. The work she gives isnt bad but she doent explain the grammer partof the language and seems very demeaning even for a n online class. If you ever thinking about taking a online french course with her yuo might want to rethink your options.

She posts all on Bb but you constantly have to check it. Ex- usually the HW due for wed isn't posted until tue pm or wed AM, or if it is posted she changes it w/out announcing. It will say do HW in the folder.I do it then go to class to find out she added more HW without telling us but still takes points off if you didnt do it

Comment:

She is the better of the French faculty here. She is very strict but it's in the students best interest. It is not overly difficult to pass with this one. Come to class (she's very tough on attendance), study well (study a bit everyday rather than cram the night before), do the homework and participate. That's it. She is mostly looking for effort. Everything is organized neatly on Blackboard. This isn't a professor you can do nothing and pass but if you try, she has a lot to teach.

She doesn't actually teach french in a easy manner. She goes from My Name Is... to straight up conversational french. If you ask her anything about when something is scheduled she will tell you to "Check Blackboard". Never announces tests, and assumes you went to blackboard to see when and where it will be given.

Okay teacher in class, fun person outside class. Office hours are a joke, told me that everything for her class was online; it isn't since her essay descriptions are very lacking. There were 5 essays in class in the year, one presentation, and 3 exams. Attending class is necessary, lectures contain info for tests that isn't online.

Almost completely useless class and prof. She is a horrible teacher, completely unclear! Everything is online, everything: test, homework, assignments. Problem is that she never tells you anything. She posts things right before class and you have no idea that they're there, she can't even tell you to check blackboard.

This professor will assign homework hours before class starts. She often contradicts herself as well as poke fun at students who don't understand the assignments right off. She often makes comparisons of French students to English students; saying that they are of superior intellect.

At first it seemed that students would be engrossed in contemporary French language and culture. Even though we are exposed to it, her exams are insanely difficult and she makes fun of students and has an ostentatious attitude. She needs to conduct herself more professionally.

Sure there were a lot of people in class who didn't catch on but it was obvious that they didn't seek the help and they didn't work hard enough. she's a really nice person if you get to know her. she will make you think you are doing horribly but that's only to get you to work hard. when you do work hard it will pay off. i took the class during Winterim and we did most of the homework on blackboard and were redo assignments. she's french!
