Comment:

He wants to help, which is nice, but he does a poor job of explaining concepts. That coupled with him insisting on doing problems without the use of a calculator (and the frequent errors and then erasing the entire problem on the board and starting over) make this class more diffiocult than it needed to be. Good luck.

Comment:

Quinn is one of the better stats professors, but you may have a lot of issues still. He is very hard to follow, unclear when intoducing a new concept. I had to pretty much teach myself everything. Best way to pass is to read the book over and over as lectures are never clear. I did see a high curve on exam 2 so he seems fair. Fair but old school.

the material wasn't easy but if you do your homework and read the chapter you will do fine. overall he does do a good job of going over examples but a poor job at explaining the concepts. When he goes over examples in class he works the examples without a calculator, which wastes about a good 15 minutes on each example (but it shows that he's smart

Attendance isn't mandatory, but you don't want to miss a class. The material is tough. However, if you do the assignments and ask questions in class or office hours (he takes the the time you need) you can get a good grade.

A511 is tough. A503 is even harder. Quinn takes a lot of flak, but he's really a good prof. His classes are HARD. But, if you're there all the time and you're paying attention and you ask questions and you do the homework, you'll get through it.
