Comment:

Very boring and hard class. If you want to pass you MUST have previous knowledge in chemistry. I've been at tech 3 years and I've only made lower than an A in his class. Tests are hard and he does NOT explain himself. I don't recommend him as a teacher. Tech seriously needs more chem profs. So far worst teacher i've had and I've had many bad ones.

Comment:

I have no doubt that he knows this material as good as any professor, but his ability to get it across was terrible! I studied the class notes, his extra notes on his website and still couldn't get it! He gives no homework and the whole class is determined by a few tests, labs the final. Decided to drop the class 10 weeks in.

Comment:

One thing positive I can say about Mr. Taylor is that he does not lack a sense of humor. Unfortunately, this is completely irrelevant due to the fact that his class is quite difficult. It is not that he doesn't try, but he does not take the time to actually slow down and explain material. Wouldn't recommend to anyone whose weak spot is science.

He's not bad. His tests aren't too hard as long as you prepare. He's got a funny little personality. He talks the majority of the class which can make it a little dry and long, but he does a great job teaching. His lab on the other hand, is your worst nightmare. You will more than likely be in there the full 3 hours every time. ZERO help in lab.

Mr. Taylor Teaches Directly and does a decent job explaining the material. If you love science, his class will be an easy A. If you hate it, it will be a well earned c. Had him for 100, 110, and 111. Got A's in all; Study his notes and your good to go. He does leave you a little lost in lab however. ;p

He teaches the material decently, but he teaches it as if his students already know about it. Also, in his labs he will give experiments that require work that he has not gone over prior to that lab, and he is not helpful if you approach him for help with something. To pass his tests I have to look heavily over his notes and through the book.

Comment:

Kinda nerdy but his website is all I needed. I never even opened the book. I just printed the notes from the website before the lecture and took notes on the side. His lectures are exactly from the notes and most of the test questions come from there. If they don't, you can usually answer the question by process of elimination. Got an A.

Mr.Taylor is a really nice guy, but chemistry was one of my stronger subjects and I actually enjoyed it unil I reached his class..About 4 questions out of 25 to 30 would come from the notes on the test..It was very hard

Very good looking, however, nothing on the tests came from the notes. You can study for hours, but it doesn't mean that you will even pass the test! Doesn't show much concern for the students, no matter how much effort they are willing to put towards the class. Good luck!!
