Messick seems like she was a great speech therapist, but she is a really horrible professor. I honestly think she would have difficulty answering her own test questions. My advice is to study A LOT and to go with your gut feelings on exams. The first two exams are difficult but the third is not as bad. The material is easy but don't underestimate!

Seems super sweet. NO. She is rude and unhelpful. Really stuck up actually. Very disorganized and lectures are boring and not helpful. She had something word for word in her notes so I picked that answer on the test and she marked it wrong and refused to change it. Awful class. Awful teacher.

Dr. Messick tries very hard to make this class interesting, but the material is pretty dry. The class isn't difficult, but there is a lot of information to learn and remember. The projects are fun!

Worst and most stressful multiple choice tests EVER! If you are the least bit creative in your reasoning she kinda ignores you. Seems like a great person outside of class, our education styles just didn't mesh I guess.

The text book was awful. She was ok as a teacher. Sometimes not very clear and some of the questions on the tests were not worded very well. She is a nice person outside of the classroom if you want to BS. But when I tried talking academeics with her, it was useless. If you are not deemed good enough, it's like you don't exist in her mind.
