Comment:
Professor Poirot definitely knows Economics like the back of his hand. His class is super boring and if youre not interested in Economics, well goodluck. Every class is a lecture over a chapter or two and you will never get out of class early. Be prepared to study and pay attention and take notes. Grade is determined by very few things.

Lectures full time, ready to answer questions/discuss course material or disagreements in class. It is a difficult course, but I have learned so much. Good professor if you like challenging courses. Takes time before every class to go over what was discussed in last class and tie in topics into real world news and articles which helps out a ton!

Poirot is easily one of the nicest professors I've ever had. He has a unique sense of humor that makes the lectures interesting. He is very understanding about absences, so talk to him, and has assured me its fine to bring my son to class if needed. Funny, kind, and has clear test guidelines for an easy A if you attend class!

He eats, sleeps, breathes, and preaches economics. Attendance is mandatory and lectures are very heavy and complicated. His tests are awfully hard and the work is outrageous. If you have to take ECON, switch professors FAST! I wish that I would've. I'm struggling so bad and this class is absolutely terrible. I dread it everyday.

Chip is very knowledgeable and a good guy, little know fact, he is a black belt in karate and actually teaches a karate class at SSU. Having had him for a whole semester I would have never known! His lectures are long and boring, dont get on your phone because if a bunch of people are he may snap at the class.

Took him for micro and maco economics. Attendance is apart of your grade. Lectures every day, never lets you out early, you need to teach yourself outside of this class because his tests are long, hard, and you really need to know everything in the book. Very boring and he was my only option so I HAD to take him.

Chip is one of the worst professors I have ever had. He made me hate economics and I dread to take Macroeconomics. Im telling yall, DO NOT TAKE THIS MAN. Your life will be miserable.

I hated this class. It was way too hard to understand and learn. He turned this history class into an economics class and it was miserable. Also is a hard grader! I got my first C ever in this class. This is not for the faint of heart!

Seems uncaring/uptight at first, but I came to greatly appreciate his dedication to helping students learn, and he is kind and can be surprisingly lighthearted. He's tough for sure and the pace is fast, but overall he's an EXCELLENT professor. Pay attention, take good notes, study hard, and you'll learn a lot and do well in the class.

You have to go to class consistently to do well because Poirot's lectures are the core of this course. The exams aren't too difficult as long as you pay attention and take decent notes. It wasn't the most thrilling course, but Poirot's lectures were thorough and made the material easy to understand.

Dr. Poirot's lectures were the core of this course. If you want to do well, go to class, and take notes. Due to the distribution of points, the chances of getting an A are slim unless you are extremely dedicated and are able to apply all the concepts from lectures. If you really want to learn, take Poirot.

A lot of the reviews say that he's boring. Some of the material is boring and a person can only do so much to liven economics, but he tries. He really does want his students to learn. He reviews tests in class so the class understands why answers were incorrect. Mainly show up to class and try. You'll be fine.

Poirot is a serious, no-nonsense professor. That said, his courses were not overly demanding. He's happy to help you, but he's not going to just give you answers. Show up, pay attention, take notes, and you'll do fine. Slacker IT major here, barely any interest in the subject, and I somehow managed the highest grade in a class of 50+.

He is so incredibly boring it is unreal. I found his lectures very tedious. He knows what he's talking about for sure, but he let's you know that because he NEVER STOPS TALKING. Also, he is helpful, but don't ever think you can ask a "yes" or "no" question. No phones in the class either. You just have to sit and suffer and really like economics.

While Dr. Poirot is difficult, if you ask for help he's more willing than most to offer help and solutions. Once you actually talk to him you'll see hes a pretty nice guy. I have seen him get angry in class but he was right to be, ex.people on phones, disrupting class, etc. If you study, you'll do much better, no way around it.

Boring to listen to in class and but gves detailed lectures. Has a good curve system, so as long as you stay above the class average you should pass with an A. His test are mulitple choice, 50 questions and as long as you pay attention in class you should pass the test without studying to much. I use the book, just take good notes.

This Instructor teaches Anthropology. I have always made A's took him well made a D on my first test and I studied hard. His test are essay questions if the sentences are not worded like the book, or full sentences he counts off. I guess if your a writing major you will do great. Furthermore, he is a jerk.
