Comment:

Professor Apelian is extremely enthusiastic about the material he teaches. He's also very helpful if you see him during office hours. However, the examples he gives while teaching are too easy and do not properly prepare one for exams or quizzes, which are quite challenging. If you take him, you must do problems from the textbook to do well.

He is very helpful and smart. He seems to be very enthusiastic while teaching. He is a full on nerd and loves what he is doing. The material is not hard but you must study and practice in order to master the topic. His pace is fast so if you miss a class you are screwed. He tries his best to make sure you pass.

Apelian is the best!! I dreaded going into CALC 2 after a horrible CALC 1, but he's one of those professors who really want their students to do well. He explains things clearly, and is extremely helpful one-on-one. You need to put work in, but it's not hard stuff. Like I said, he's very fair and willing to help.

Great professor!! He definitely knows his stuff. He's kinda corny at times but he's funny. He explains everything very well. Tests and quizzes are challenging but if you pay attention and do the hmwk you'll do well. I would definitely take another class with him!

Comment:

Very good professor, but he will ramble on about how he is teaching you or why he's teaching you often, rather than actually teaching you. Sometimes it will get annoying or you will get bored, but if you do the homework and pay attention you will do well in the class. He is very helpful and clear, and sort of dorky in a nice way.

Had this prof for 2 classes and he's great. Goes off on tangents, but it's always entertaining. Very funny in a corny sort of way. Knows everything about math and obviously loves it. Usually pretty clear. Very nice and understanding, but not a pushover. Class was difficult at times, but I would have done better if I'd done the homework.

very nice and helpful. funny & easygoing. neat and organized. does everything in little steps so u can follow. if u do the homework and pay attention, u'll do well, and if ur having problems u can always go to office hours and he'll be more than happy to help. nice gotee. hehehe.

Extremely anal retentive by his own admission. Spends more time explaining why he can't go into more detail due to time constraints than he does actually teaching stuff. But overall a good, fair teacher. Also funny, in a dorky math sort of way.
