Comment:

Ive taken multiple classes with Fewer hes an awesome, enthusiastic lecturer. Hes clearly very passionate about what he teaches. However, in every class Ive taken he doesnt assign anything until the end of the semester; he waits until the last few weeks of classes to pile on multiple tests and papers which is very frustrating.

Comment:

If you do the readings, take notes, and show up to class, there's no reason to fail his class. He's funny and tries to make the text engaging, which helps with comprehension. He can be a hard grader, but his essay prompts are usually things that have been discussed frequently in class, and if you're unsure, ask him! He's very approachable.

Professor does not believe in extra credit. His study guides look absolutely nothing like the tests. There are only 2 tests a semester, the midterm and final. Virtually no one gets a good grade in his class. void at all costs.

Colin is passionate about the topics he teaches and has so much info to give but is very confusing with essay prompts. He is a very harsh grader, expecting professional writing in a 200 level class. I doubt he's ever given an A to anyone before, but you'll learn tons from him. Great guy, very funny and nerdy. Don't email him cuz he won't respond.

I don't think he takes into consideration at all how much work a student puts into his or her work. We can't all write papers the way HE wants, first off, because he's not even clear on what he wants to begin with and 2nd We Can Not Read Your Mind!! I would never recommend him unless you are a very experienced writer.

For a 100 level class, the grading was very harsh. When emailing to ask for help, it took days for an email to be returned, and would not be all together helpful anyway. Amount of course work was fair, but Grading over all was far to harsh, despite above and beyond basic requirements for assignments, Would not recommend unless an English major

The class environment is great, however his grading is really confusing to a lot of the students in this class. Not fully sure what he wants out of our work and seems to be a very tough grader. It's possible to do well, but it seems rare to do.

The best professor on staff. He will be slightly tougher on your writing than other professors but he is always respectful, funny, and easy-going.

Taken tons of classes with Colin. If you show up to class and do the freaking readings you will learn so much!! He really opens your eyes to new ideas. He's an inspiration. SO stop being lazy and complaining.

Honestly, although Colin is very intelligent, when it comes to his teaching style he's horrible. I don't understand why all these people love him. He stays on one piece of literature for over a month, hardly ever responds to emails, and has ridiculously difficult exams. He will give you a lower grade if he doesn't like your topic on the paper

Comment:

Fewer is possibly the best professor of English literature Purdue Calumet has to offer. His lectures are awesome and he goes out of his way to get his students interested in the material. Be prepared to laugh and learn a lot from this man. But be warned, his classes are NOT easy. GO TO CLASS, 2 tests and 1 paper are all your grade consists of.

COLIN IS MY MOST FAVORITE PROFESSOR OF ALL TIME! I absolutely love him (not to mention my slight crush >.>;)! He makes ANY SUBJECT he teaches interesting. I look forward to his class everyday. He makes Chaucer interesting and the Aenied is one of my favorite books because of him. I love Colin's humor, it makes the material easier to remember.

Comment:

Fewer never failed to make me laugh everyday! He didn't give out much homework. When we had to write papers, he proofread them as many times as it took until we understood what we wanted. The reviews for tests were pretty good too. His lectures are usually really interesting...only repetitive on ocassion. On an overall, I HIGHLY recommend him!
