Comment:
Worst classes and professors I have ever taken. 1. He rarely emailed back. 2. Made us do a group project that consisted of community service hours for an ONLINE class.... Absolutely ridiculous. 3. Turned myself and about 10 other classmates into honor council for no reason. (nothing happened to my grade but was a pain to go through)

ENTO 322 was such an easy A that I literally stop showing up half of the semester. Everything is online so the professor, a very nice Australian guy, isn't really needed. Only downside is that there is a ton of busy work. I found myself doing more stuff for this class than any other. No final, only group project. If you do the work you'll get an A.

I took this class online and it was ok. It is not an easy A, don't let anyone fool you. The class itself is easy there is just a ton off assignments and a large group project that is very vague. A ton of busy work and you are peer graded for almost everything, so don't expect any feedback from Coates.

There are no exams or quizzes in this class, which is nice. Your grade is comprised of various assignments, Packback participation, and a service project at the end of the semester (for online students too). If you complete your assignments on time you should have no problem getting an A. However, most grades are based on peer review.

I had the in-class version, and wish I would have taken the online. The class doesn't have much correlation to the assignments that you are given. I would only go for the announcements of deadlines for assignments. Lots of out of class work (about 3 things per week). The park backs are a pain to do. Overall, you can get an A, if you do everything

I took the in-person section of this class, which is optional for online kids to attend as well. He has an Australian accent which makes it fun to listen to. He is very passionate about what he teaches and I have the utmost respect for him. No exams, but a lot of busy work. It is not hard if you actually stay on top of your work and put in effort.

This class pretty much felt like the assignments due every other day were designed to be busywork rather then actually have you learn. It's not a bad science credit but be weary of the group projects which can pretty much save or sink your grade.

He provides a lot of work, but it's easy to keep up with, you could even get ahead if you wanted to. There is one major group project and he uses tophat in every class. He will usually let class get out early.

DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY! He does not have a final. Instead, he assigns a group service project which is not well prepared at all. Most groups will make C's. He is also VERY heavy on online quizzes and makes you pay for a semester subscription to TopHat. He does not respond to emails in a timely manner. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

He responds very quickly to students and has interesting lectures. He doesnt have tests so that is nice if you arent the greatest test taker. There is a group project that takes awhile, so I would recommend starting on that early and making sure that you talk to your group members - it can be very challenging to do that if you take it online.

I don't understand why he has so many bad reviews. He is truley a great professor and the work that needs to be done is really not a lot you just need to actually do the work. If you do the class do the project at a elemtary school because it is simple. Also there are several days that we do not have class but the days you do have class just come.

He is incredibly annoying, for an online course he is totally stern in demanding a ridiculous amount of time to be put in. He sent out many emails, threatening to turn people into the honor council for not grading their peers hard enough. Too many pointless projects that make you feel like a fifth grader. Overall he is a nightmare to deal with.

Comment:
This class is very tedious and assignments are due by 5:00 p.m. not midnight. He takes a very long time to respond back to emails. You have to take an Honor Code test, that is nearly impossible before you can actually do any of the assignments that are due in his class. All the materials he gives to the class are usually not correct.

Extremely sweet and caring professor. I didn't necessarily care for the class that much but it was worth it because he was such a great professor. Also has a cool accent!

This class is an easy A but the professor is so hard to get a hold of via email or office hours. And there is this group project at the end of the semester that weighs a lot on your overall average and it was not well planned at all. It was a big mess and half of the class ended up making Bs and Cs. So be careful if you decide to take him.

Caring professor who truly enjoys his profession. There is a ton of homework (article reviews, peer assignments, group projects, etc.) in this class (the most busy work i've had in college thus far), but there are no tests so it somewhat evens out. Online quizzes weren't too difficult if you look at your notes but again, the class is a lot of work.

This is an Easy A course but you literally have to work for it! your participation is taken through an outside app so just make sure you complete it weekly. There is a monarch butterfly project that will drive you insane, syllabus is unclear on some assignments. If you want the A ask questions on class discusion forum & email TA's and Prof together

Do not take this class, there is mandatory community service so you must have time for that. I thought the class would be fun but it turned out to be a headache to take care all of the deadlines! Also, contacting TAs and Professor can be very hard at times!

Dr. Coates is a good prof! This class is easy, but there is so much busy work. He is accessible and friendly just be ready to do lots of filler quizzes, discussions, projects, etc. If you aren't very busy already then take this you will do fine. Overall, good class no complaints! Also no final, you do a group project instead which was great.
