Loved Proff. Biggs! He is a very sweet, soft-spoken man who loves to tell stories about "back in the day". Doesn't lecture much. Works out HW probs. in class as teaching method. Tests are just like HW. EASY A!!

Comment:

Nice man, awful teacher. The class is nothing but working a few homework problems and listening to dull stories. THERE IS NO LECTURE. There isn't time for a lecture because his convoluted, haphazard approach to solving physics problems leads to mistakes and confusion. I would rather stab myself in the neck than sit through another of his lectures.

I wouldn't recommend taking this class. Mr Biggs is a very nice man but that being said, he doesn't lecture. He is hard of hearing and spends a good deal of time taking roll. If you need to know physics or would like to have a good understanding of it DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! You will be teaching yourself.

Do not Take ! he doesn't even teach you know to work out the physics problems. His lectures are not reliable and consists of 45min going over the homwork and random story telling. He is a nice person but isn't very good with explaining and re-teaching what he knows to his students which is not helpful at all on student's behalf. must teach yourself

80 mins class= 75 mins of previous hw + 5 mins of random talk.If you are looking for someone who actually knows about physics and can teach and answer your questions. He is not for you. If you want an A,then you need to prepare to read the chapters all on your own since he doesn't really teach.Btw,watch out for his constant mistakes!

He's a funny and patient man, but this class is not for those who rely on lectures. Basically you attempt the homework, and he will go over it the next day, and then a lab. The test questions come from homework and labs. Only take this class if you have some background knowledge of physics, otherwise you will be lost.

I wouldn't recommend this professor if you don't know physics. No notes and limited lecture made this class hard for me. He gives out homework sections and expects you to understand it with no notes etc. Then the next class period you go over the homework. Also, many student interruptions made things more confusing. Otherwise he was a nice guy.

Prof. Biggs is wonderful, very helpful and patient. He goes over homework in class and he'll answer any questions or concerns you may have. Most notes come from lectures, he simplifies problem solving better than book. He's entertaining, be prepared to listen to some stories and jokes, 'cuz he has losts of them.

If you know Physics already, I highly recommend him! He goes over homework in the class period and he doesn't lecture at all, so it would be hard for those who rely on lectures and notes. He let you turn in homework and lab reports whenever you want and his tests are so easy. It was an easy class overall.

I do not recommend this professor. He is very hard of hearing and he loves to tell stories. I found myself putting in hours of reading and watching online videos because he does not lecture. His class consists of reviewing homework. Ugh!

He is the cutest little old man ever. However, not the best professor ever. we basically just go over our homework during lecture. When he does lecture it's hard to follow b/c it's slow and he talks quietly. Sweet old man, not a fun/interactive class, but an easy one.

This is one of the kindest and most generous teachers I have ever had. A few of us were struggling-he would meet with us for hours 2times/wk and go over anything we needed. He's playful too. If you need this class for a pre-req and aren't going on to eng. phys, I highly recommend this guy. I would not have been able to get an A w/o his extra help.

This class was really easy if you do all the homework problems. He doesn't really have set due dates for anything, so you can turn them in late and still make an A. A little unclear with his instructions, but if you have common sense you can figure stuff out.

Easy professor. Wants his students to do well. Sometimes he can be a bit confusing but he will keep explaining the concept until you understand it. Test questions come from the homework which he works for you in class. Drops the lowest test grade. 2 tests and final 20% each, lab 25%, and homework 15%. Sit in the front bc it can be hard to hear him.

Awesome instructor. Made a difficult subject easy and fun to learn. I made a 97% but it did take a lot of work. If you are willing to learn the homework problems, the tests follow the same patterns. Makes physics a whole lot easier.

Such a nice old professor! Lab is worth 25% of your grade. There are 4 tests and 1 can be dropped. Homework is assigned every class, but he ends up working them out at the beginning of class, so you basically get a 100 for homework. That will also boost your grade. If you make a C, your final grade will be a B if you go to lab and complete your HW
