This is the culmination of the AGEC program. The class is the vehicle for a semester long group project where you write a business plan for a business you create from the ground up. There's a midterm essay where you evaluate a business. Other than that, it's all group work. Must attend class!

Tilley was a great guy and I liked him a lot on a personal level. However, he was an awful professor. His lectures were confusing and several times the material he was teaching was downright wrong. Avoid Tilley if at all possible.

I knew a lot about ag economics prior to taking this class, which is the only reason I made an A. Tilley is a nice enough guy, but he's a horrible teacher. Tells pointless stories that don't help understand the material at all. I came to almost every class and barely learned anything; i'm not sure he even knew the material himself. Take anyone else

Comment:
Nice but very boring and hard to pay attention to. He tells lots of pointless stories. He gives 100 points worth of clicker point, which is appreciated. If math is not your thing this class will be challenging. SI sessions is where I learned it, but sometimes they gave the wrong answers!

This guy is a huge jerk and a bad professor. His "textbook" is just copies of his slides, so you can't even consult something else if you don't understand. Don't take him, he wasn't willing to help me during office hours even. His class is unnecessarily difficult!

Comment:
He was so unclear when presenting course material. It was incredibly frustrating to leave class every day nearly in tears. He assigned homework to be due during Thanksgiving break. His assignments are difficult and take hours to do. The tests are incredibly difficult. I really recommend taking this class with a different professor if you have the option. He is a nice guy, though. His AGEC 1114 class was just too unnecessarily rough, with vague directions for a one-thousand level course.

Dr. Tilley is a great help. His tests can be hard but he relates all his lectures back to real life to help you understand the material. I've heard he is not a good advisor, but I have worked with him since AGEC and had another class with him and his bright personality and jokes have yet to fail.

Dr. Tilley was very helpful in class, and would frequently stay after to answer ALL the questions on the exercises during lab periods. If your come from a farm background it will help but isn't crucial, common sense is. Overall Tilley was an excellent professor.

Hey is really good. Yes it can be difficult but if you put in the time you will do good he tells you the subjects on the test and everthing comes from the notes you do not need a book for this class.

hard tests. you'll feel like you've never seen the stuff. just tells stories doesnt really teach. has serious favorites. ta's fell asleep in class all the time. the computers/screens never worked. lectures had nothing to do with tests. just go to discussion and youll learn it. uses bell curve/ranking system for grades..

Horrible teacher, if you didn't grow up on a farm you will have NO idea what he is talking about. All his stories and explainations use farm knowledge. The tests are horrible and he has questions like circle all that are correct. Horrible teacher, horrible class.

he wasn't clear on anything and he would explain things wrong. He even admitted that one of the multiple choice questions on an Exam had no correct answer listed.
