He's an amazing person! Too bad his co-teacher is an enormous ass. I loved his lectures, they were so interesting!Don't buy the book! Warning though, the class DOES require you to study the lectures, but everything is online. There are 4 tests, and always some sort of curve/extra credit. Loved the class, I got an A.

Dr. Wells is an extremely nice man. He is quirky, fun, and passionate about his field of study. A warning though for those who might take this class for non-science majors - IT ISN'T THAT EASY! The 1st 2 tests lull you into a sense of complacency, but the 3rd and 4th tests are killers.

Dr wells is a great professor and person. He understand if your not a science major/lover so he helps you as much as possible. Textbook is not required and provides slides online. Has a great personality and passion for science. Take dr wells if possible.

He's great! This professor was awesome, not hard at all, and no textbook required. All you need is 4 test grades, or 3 test grades and a project. Would definitely take him again! No final or midterm either.

he's wonderful! Wells is really zany and you can tell he has a passion for the subject. He's always available to answer questions and cares that you actually understand if you're having trouble. I'd take him again. Super easy course, so worth it!

Dr Wells is a nice prof.You don't need a text book for his class,stick to his slides and lect and you would pass.The only problem is that UH Dept of Biology has this all screwed up that even if you sign up with him,you end up with Dr Wiernasz teaching 1st half of the course which is not fun as she WILL kill your GPA, making it elusive to get an "A"

Dr Wells was such a relief to have after Dr Diane nightmare! His tests are pretty easy if you study and understand the material! He made learning genetics much more interesting and easy! Dont forget your margaritas!

He is very good professor, he knows what is teaching. I recommand YOU to solve the questions after each chapter, which will be very useful on the test. Get the solution manual will give a lot of explaining and will give you the right answers

he teaches the second half of genetics and in a completely different way. he provides you the notes and sticks to them for the most part. he doesnt test over stuff not covered in his notes. if you can get through the first half of the class, it is worth taking. he is an interesting professor

He's a pretty good prof. He talks kinda fast which doesn't leave much room for questions, but he always had office hours if you had any. Test questions were mostly straight forward with about 5% being curve balls... can't say the same about Dr. Wiernacsz

Textbook is optional.If I looked at my book it was only to look at interesting photographs. He teaches by powerpoint but types out notes for you to print!Fun & outgoing lecturer and fair exams. I almost get perfect score for class and did not study too much. FAIR!

Great teacher. I passed with an easy A without ever having to read the book because he explains things really well and makes the material more interesting. Not much is required for the class, just tests and no final.

4 tests and an option to take the 5th test or turn in a project. Exams are multiple choice. He gives VERY easy extra credits that are worth tons of points. I never had to read the book because his printable notes are informative and clear enough. A memorable teacher who's upbeat, energetic, and openmind. This course was a breeze for me.

Do not take him for genetics! He teaches half of the class and Wiernasz teaches the other half. Although Wells is easier then Wiernasz, both of them are bad teachers and their tests are very difficult. Wells final was very difficult- all multiple choice with average of 55. I am a good student, but I did not do well in this class.

He's not as bad compared to Wiernasz, but she teaches half the semester so you're screwed either way, I've never studied so long for a test and still failed. His test are all memorization and if you dont know it word for word he'll catch you, he words his questions very tricky. I wouldnt waste time with this class.

*Do NOT take him! Awful at teaching. This is a core class & he taught genetics like we should have tons of previous genetic knowledge. VERY HARD. UNFAIR GRADING. test do not show what u have learned.
