She's an okay person outside of class but not a good professor. Very unorganized and gets off topic very easily. Hard grader even though she doesn't read the whole thing and even said she grades off of the first page. I had INQ 110 with her and learned nothing. Avoid taking her class!

Comment:

Prof Whiteside is amazing, she really tries to engage with students. There was always reading for homework but they were relatively short and easy to digest. She makes lots of English puns. Extra credit was given for perfect attendance, so show up! Sometimes directions were unclear but she was more than willing to explain if you asked.

Some people I've met who've had Dr. Whiteside don't like her because she can be a little eccentric, but I absolutely adore her. I've worked with people in her class before, and the majority of people who don't like her just don't like doing work in general and are bitter and lazy about it. Just show up and do the work. It's really that simple.

Comment:

Dr. Whiteside is really funny and nice. Her classes are engaging however she often gets off topic and will only teach the last 5 minute of class. You give a few presentations and the reading quizzes are harder than you would think. Some classes we literally just look at photos. Overall, the class isn't hard. P.S. REMEMBER WORKS CITED ALWAYS!!!!

She seems like a nice person, but not the best professor. For class time, we go over what our assignments and give presentations, then she teaches for the last 5 minutes of class. We barely go over the books in class, but you are expected to understand what is going on in the books for our pop quizzes. Not a bad person, just not the best prof.

Dr. Whiteside is one of the best teachers I've ever had. She is brilliant, considerate, engaging, and always offers the most interesting curriculum. I would recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Whiteside is a very nice lady and I feel for her, but as a professor she is just too much... she goes off on tangents and is always over enthusiastic calling assignments "super fun homework" and just things that can piss you off haha. She tries hard (too hard) and cares about the subject. If you like over the top people, she's your woman

completely disorganized all semester. Showed up to the final 20mins late and still had to print tests out. Her tests on the reading are harder than you expect.Despite her disorganization I do think she is a genuinely good person who cares about her students

she is my favorite professor. it is my first year at roanoke college and whiteside truly cares about her students. she is always willing to help you and is there if you need to talk. shes like a friend. her class is really fun and interesting. we enjoy her as a professor and she is a great person to be around!love her shes the best! TAKE HER CLASS!

She is the best and most intelligent professor at Roanoke College. She truly loves and cares for each of her students and is willing to go the extra mile to help them out. She is also a great friend and interesting to talk to outside of class. You will be missing out on A LOT if you don't take her for at least one class.

She is all over the place. She takes forever to give back papers. You'd think her class would be easy but then you get your grades back and realize she is a hard grader. You can write papers again but by the time you get them back, you have no time. The class was incredibly boring, I didn't learn much of anything. She is a nice person though.

Whiteside can go off on random tangents and loves pandas to death but she is extremely helpful and understanding, I've gone to her several times for paper help and she's always willing. Almost all papers for her classes can be rewritten. She cares about her students as well. I recommend her classes.
