I am pretty surprised at some of these comments. Yes, Dr. Vinson can be a challenging professor. But she is super outgoing and amicable during her class period. Showing up to class is important, doing the readings is important, but isn't that college? If you are a POL major, TAKE HER CLASSES. She was even flexible with some of her due dates.

Professor Vinson is passionate about her subject, but be on your game with papers and citations. Grading standards are unclear, and she can be controversial about guidelines for assignments. There is also a lot of reading to do outside of class. She can be finicky and moody at times.

Dr. Vinson is a great teacher - so smart, caring and easy to talk with. She made a class I was dreading very interesting. Some touch assignments but basically gives a study guide for final exam.

Good teacher. I like how she uses current events and then ties them into her class. She is pretty funny and we have good discussion in class. Sometimes I feel she can be a little opinionated, which can be tricky since this is a politics class. But she is generally fair. Really tough grader though.

Literally one of the hardest graders. I took her for my freshman writing seminar and i never made above a C on anything. She roasts your papers but doesn't teach you in class. Participation is everything. Take all your papers to her before you turn them in.

Very tough grader, you have to be on your game with the essays especially citations. Always ask for help when you need it because she is very realistic at giving criticism. She is a bit controversial on what she wants though so be careful. Great discussions too !

I love Dr. Vinson, she is so adorable. One of my favorite teachers!! so adroable and class is fun! the only thing is that her projects are very time consuming outside of class and she doesnt always explain exactly what she wants in her instructions.

shes...nice? but dont get on her badside! the absolute most important thing about her class is participation. it doesnt matter whether you sit front or back, but you better talk in class, and suck up by emailing her your thoughts on stuff frequently. TALK ALOT IN CLASS. also, dont miss class, the attendance policy is a bit ridiculous

I think Vinson got on Rate my Professor and decided she was too easy of a grader and started grading harder...so Danielle, if you are reading this, stop tearing apart our papers! Class is alright, but I got about as much out of it as my high school government class. If you are going into politics you need it though, so have fun.

AMAZING PROFESSOR! Very clear lecturer, willing to help you outside of class, very energetic about her subject -- you can genuinely tell she LOVES Congress (especially the budget process). Tests aren't particularly hard, but she does grade pretty harshly on papers (she was an English major). Pretty intensive reading and writing class. Be prepared!!
