Dr. Matthews went beyond the basics & used interesting & entertaining examples. He encouraged discussion so class transcended a lecture style into more of a forum/discussion class. Required assignments were very relevant & the tests were fair. Dr. Matthews very clearly enjoys teaching! He genuinely wants his students to do well. I highly recommend!

Dr. Matthews had very interesting stories which helped make the material interesting. He was easy to get in touch with and willing to help. Had a great sense of humor and made class fun. Wish I could take more classes from him!

Dr. Matthews is a great teacher. I had experimental psychology with him which isn't interesting in the least, but I still enjoyed going to class everyday. He is not boring and he knows what he's talking about. I would definitely take him again.

Dr. Matthews goes off on random tangents that have nothing to do with the topic of hand, but it's an easy A so you learn to put up with him. U don't have to go to class but it will help....i never studied for a test but made 100's on all of them

I've taken PSYC 301, 302 and 402 from Dr. Matthews, I'm yet to get less than an A. He is lenient with turning stuff in, doesn't take roll, and gives study guides with everything that will be on the test. The classes aren't easy, but he makes them as easy as they can be. Take him if you can.

Very good Intro to Psychology professor.. As long as you show up to class, it is easy to make a good grade. All quizzes and tests are multiple choice and no homework except to read. Dr. Matthews seems to know his stuff, and is very funny to listen to...
