Aethetics was awesome. I'm a studio arts major and I learned how to look at paintings and modern art. Some Christian Zealots didn't like looking at naked paintings, but hey its an art class.

Aesthetics with Banach was extremely confusing and his lectures were all over the place. His grading made no sense whatsoever. I tried to do better on assignments but when nothing I did worked I gave up trying and magically got higher grades for minimal effort.

He knows a lot but the way he structures the class is very confusing. Whenever he talked about the assigned readings he would go off on tangents that explained it all in a way that only made it more difficult to understand. You're basically on your own to learn anything.

Banach is a really good teacher and offers incredible insight for Conversatio. He doesn't always answer emails but he does read them and if they require an answer just see him after class. He's very flexible with rescheduling an exam if you have an excused note. He gives quizzes on the readings only sometimes so make sure you come to class prepared

I really enjoyed this class, when I went. I attended the days of the major quizzes (which he gave ahead of time). I wish I had gone more often because he was very interesting when I went. I also feel like I could have gotten a better grade if I attended class more often.

Good professor, give you a lot of room to be imaginative as well as pick your own topic for essays. Insightful and quirky always brings a teapot or water pitcher to always have something to drink.

Professor Banach's class is highly unorganized and none of the material is clear. After reading every assigned reading and his website I still struggled throughout the entire course. When I went to see him he was available, but talked in circles and never reached a conclusion.

Talks incessantly about things that make little, if any, sense. Attendance not mandatory - you are better off teaching yourself. Tough grader.

Would probably enjoy the comment about being BFFs with Satan, and that's what makes him great. Really loves the material and really enjoys discussing it. Comments about favoritism might be defended by the fact that some students are just more interesting than others. Highly recommended.

Wow. What a great professor, and I am a professor! I am "taking" his class through podcasts. I have listened to each lecture twice and learned so much. He is articulate, well organized, paces well, includes enough material, but not too much, and emphasizes important distinctions. What a fine contribution to the general public. THANKS St.A and DB!

He had a very clear of idea of what ideas were right and wrong and graded accordingly for tests and papers. Rather than being a seminar class he lead it as though it was a lecture
