Class is basically all discussion based and there were so many awkward silences. Teacher would also mumble questions, yet when students spoke he always yelled for them to speak up. Had harder finals than all other journey classes and was more of a philosophy class.

he isnt a bad guy when he isnt teaching, but when he is, he is so annoying and borderline rude. he speaks condescendingly to students and cuts you off when you try to speak. i got by with a C, i wouldn't recommend him at all but if you get stuck with him just do the readings and you should be ok.

At first you don't know what to think about him-- but after a while you come to find that he truly does care about his students. He says he cares about attendance-- but if you miss a few classes you will be fine. He is really into the community and that is a great thing. You really don't have to read any of the texts-SPARKNOTES!! Good class overall

Wonderful Prof! He keeps you on your toes, however, he is helpful and gives a lot of constructive comments. He is fluent and expects students to have a high level of language skill so watch out. If you really want to learn a lot of italian take this course. Lots of HW but its worth it!

Beneteau is an ass- do not take unless you are already almost fluent - gives tons and tons of work - also kinda of a weirdo - sometimes things he said were a little "off" and he even put a reading on the final in italian that involved a ****movie being shown at a movie theatre - totally inappropriate

Prof. Beneteau is the nicest man ever. You always have to stay on your toes in that class but you definitely learn a lot. He's also very funny and genuinely loves teaching Italian. Gives a lot of homework though but it's worth it.

I liked him. Sometimes He seems like an **** but its because he's strict and anal. Even though it's tough to put up with, that's a good quality in a teacher. I had two other professors before him and even though they were nicer, I didn't learn as much with them as I learned with Benetaeu. Very good teacher but be ready to work ur ass off

LOVE HIM, Sweetest man ever. Will help as much as you want it. Class requires a lot of work and studying, along with regular oral exams and presentations, but thats any lanuguage. He is great Def take him, the nicest guy ever!

First off, who cares if he's French Canadian? He speaks better than the majority of Italians I know. If you want to learn the language, take this class, and he'll put you through your paces. If you want it just for credit, take some else. But he's well worth the hard work.

I don't know where all these negative comments are coming from. HE IS THE GREATEST! He's very understanding and very helpful. You have homework every night but its for YOUR benefit. How else do you expect to learn a language? I'm taking him again next semester. He's awesome.
