Really nice teacher. He helps show you things to look for when looking for a job online. Goes off topic at times but its always IT related and its always information to help better you in the future. Definitely need to be in class or you might fall behind. He gives a lot of extra credit.

If you are considering taking his class, I cannot recommend it enough as he was a great professor even on days when I, unfortunately, didn't attend not due to his teaching skills but due to the piles of work I was doing in all of my other classes. Expert when it comes to programming and will remain, my favorite professor of this year.

One of the best professors at HFC This is the second class I've taken with him. His class is very easy-going and if you e-mail him he's very flexible and understanding. For CIS 100 I needed the textbook since it came with a code. For CIS 221 I didn't purchase the textbook since it's on Moodle. Wish he taught all my classes lol I love him

I love dr. Maier, he is an amazing professor. I wish I could take more classes with him because he really understands his stuff. He'll help you build skills to figure out programming and he covers multiple topics giving lots of exposure to his students who are going into programming/coding field. I'm actually going to really miss having him.

Dr. Maier is an amazing instructor and very well respected. He is very patient and ensures that he answers any and every question you have. He will spend time with you until you understand the code. I would take him again. He has sparked my interest in CIS so much. EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE!

I had such a good experience in his 122 class that I took him again for 125. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the subject matter, encourages classroom discussions and gives several opportunities for extra credit. I'm brand new to programming and he made the material fun, interesting and easily digestible.

Never met him, but whenever I needed some troubleshooting advice, he was there to help. Extended due dates on some assignments I missed. Understanding and considerate teacher. But make sure you check SNAP weekly and do the assignments early, because it's very easy to lose track and miss assignments.

He's a good teacher but sometimes he's not clear when you ask for help. He teaches what he needs to and goes the extra mile, but has a hard time helping with any programs you might be stuck on.

This class was a breeze, all the homework is explained perfectly and he answers any questions you may have. However, I feel like it was too easy, if you want to be a programmer/developer, work on your own as this is a beginners class. Otherwise, his class was great and I would take him again!

Dr. Maier is seriously the best teacher for this class. He's very clear and reaches out to help you anytime you want. He replies quickly to emails. You cannot fail this class whatsoever. Definitely recommend him to everyone.
