He talks about things that are not related to the papers and or homework assignment. Also he has you write multiple papers about how technology is taking over. He also rambles on and gets distracted very easily. Just overall I wouldnt recommend taking his class.

He was not helpful at all. In fact I learned nothing in his class. The material was okay but it will feel like you are writing the same paper over and over again just different topics. This class was not helpful at all and I would never take it again. He was responsive by email. There are no due dates on Canvas just on his Syllabus.

Takes attendance so that's a part of the grade, but it won't kill you. Felt largely unprepared for the essays since the topics seemed random. I don't remember a single lecture. But, very good with helping you if needed and was understanding of my disabilities accommodations. Just work hard on the essays with lots of research should be okay

Come to class because it counts, and ask questions. Don't waste your time if you want to do things half-assed. Your grade totally depends on the effort you put in to your papers. There were 4 papers for the semester. Prepare for research. Take your papers to the Eng. lab to get help on MLA formating. Prof. Nelson is easy going and very nice.

He gives bad feedback so you never know what you did wrong. He talks and talks the whole class about meaningless stories. Assigns reading that is never mentioned in class. Graded my essay worse because he didn't agree with it. Told me my topics weren't good since he didn't agree with them. Very boring class with nothing fun or interesting. 2/10

Nelson is a funny guy but he is very unorganized. Very first day he was 10 minutes late, his tardiness continued throughout the semester with him showing up late every now and then. He is a hard grader who gives very little feedback. If you are taking his class be ready to stay late after class b/c he dismisses class anywhere from 5-15 mins late.

This class is all research essays. He was in college in the 70's and rambles some kind of conspiracies. He talks about how technology is taking over, and the first two papers are on the subject. The first paper, I didn't understand the option 1 topic because it was rambling and general. He's off on tangents and says uh 9 times a min. on average.

If you took the time to consult with him your essay before due date, he will give you pointers and basically edits your work and give you the path to get an A. His lectures can be lengthy. Make sure to show up on time otherwise, he will mark you absent. There are extra credit opportunities. He is a tough grader, but helps you a better writer.

Took him last semester for eng101. Everything you need to know for his class is on canvas so it was super easy to pass if you're willing on starting the assignments early. Sometimes I even worked on them in class since his lectures are long. He's funny too sometimes. First time I aced a paper.

He is a great professor. Yes he may be opinionated, however, if you're self efficient and talk to him like any college student should, he will give you a good grade. I passed his class with a 99% because I went to his office. If you're willing to be a self efficient student and go into his office for help, I strongly recommend him.

Expects you to be on time but he will come into class late on a daily basis and misplace your papers and accuse you of not turning it in only for it be be found weeks later in his desk so you wrote 2 papers for no reason. He's such a headache and doesn't care if you have other classes. Has outrageous deadlines that will make you stressed. Horrible!

He has literally all projects posted on canvas. The class was easy, he actually grades based on grammar and content instead of just automatically giving an A which I think is helpful. First time I EVER aced a paper. However, the class is boring. Don't take him if you're too lazy to look at at Canvas, though. Very helpful in office hours too.

TERRIBLE! Professor Nelson will bore you to death with his nonsense. Takes FOREVER to get anything graded, VERY opinionated, TOUGH grader. He does nothing to help his students. He has no grading rubric; it is all whether he agrees with you or not. Do not recommend for anyone. Oh, and he is non-existing outside of the classroom.

His lectures will bore you to sleep because all he talks is nonsense. 3 quarters of the class dropped by the end of the semester. I got a B in his class but I really had to work hard to get that grade and had to argue with him because his grading criteria is based off his opinions. If he doesn't agree with you he will give you a bad grade.

DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. He is tremendously opinionated. If you don't agree with him you will fail. I took his ENG102 class and it contains mostly research essays. He will grade based on whether or not he agrees with your paper. He will not grade on the quality of the paper. I'm not learning any thing. This class will be a waste of your time.

One of the worst professors I've ever had. Talks about nothing related to what our curriculum is really about. Rambles on about pointless nonsense. Majority of the time he talks about his own political opinion and plays YouTube videos to make up for the time class is supposed to be in session. Never take him as a professor, not worth the GPA.

I took Professor Nelson in Spring 2013 for Creative Writing and it was a blast. All these years later my writing abilities still are influenced by him. He taught me how to pair excessive content down and be more efficient in my writing. His class is allot of fun and all you need to do is have good attendance and turn in homework and youll be fine!

He's absolutely boring, and he speaks a lot of non-sense. Actually, he makes you to fall asleep for good. I can't understand how other folks gave him good grades on this site. Also, lectures are dull and useless. I do not recommend for anyone to take this guy.
