Comment:

Professor Steer is an amazing professor. If anyone failed his class it is because they clearly were not trying. I am a social science work and far from interested in earth science but I learned so much in his class and he is beyond helpful. He gives you every tool to succeed!

Took the online course. Does not explain the information well. Will not reveal exam answers after the exam is taken. Is not helpful when asking for help. He expects everyone to have the same knowledge of science as he does. He has ruined science for me. He makes the course harder and more confusing than it needs to be, Especially for entry level.

Prof Steer is a great teacher. He is very in depth, but gives you every oppotunity to do well in his class, as long as you put in the effort. Very intelligent and easy to listen to! Would take again!

his class is very hard. The man is smart but he thinks everyone should understand the course work as well as he does. There are test every few weeks and they are hard. His extra credit is hard and so it the homework.

For a FRESHMAN level course, Dr. Steer makes it clear he's trying to weed out the weak. I'm currently taking the online section. We have a quiz, a discussion, & an advanced exercise due each week. He wrote the book himself, so it's not that clear, honestly. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, especially the online section, Go with environmental science instead

He is a very good professor. There is a lot of homework but it is really easy to complete. And it was nice because he was an co author of the textbook you use. So his lectures are tailored to what you need to know. You don't have to go to class but I didn't miss a class and got A's on all tests without reading the book.

There is A LOT of homework involved with this class, but honestly, it is the reason you can get A's on the tests. I am awful at science and got a 97% on the first exam. The exams are taken at the CBT center. He gives a practice exam on springboard and overall he is super helpful!

Comment:

Exams are hard, but as long as you do all the homework and take all the quizzes, you will be able to fail the exams and still do well. Attendance is not mandatory because you can submit your homework online. There is just too much info to cover in a semester but I would recommend him. I don't think you will find a better teacher for this course.

Really easy class, yeah you get homework every day but it just graded on completion, so you can write anything you want. Class gets boring but we went outside a couple of times. Overall not bad

Class was fairly easy. The online quizzes count four alot of your grade but you can look the questions up on google and get 100%. the tests are kind of hard but if you study you can get a B on them. He gives a lot of extra credit and I got an A in the class.

Way to much material for a level 100 course. Some questions on the homework for every class (not collected) are not strait forward from the book. His tests and weekly open book/note quizzes are much harder to figure out and are not straight forward. Every day there is a worksheet in class which is extremely hard and the class is extremely boring.

Good teacher. He liked to talk about the end of the world and what not. He has a sharp sense of humor and he's a good teacher. I always hated that he didn't really check class assignments and expected you to get all things, but I killed that class. Got an A. It's really to simple to fail. Do the homeworks!

Steer taught well, was big into the world ending. made it fun, but it was not fun if you did not know any one cause he has you talk to people around you. Gave out the notes everyday. Really do your homework it helps. Also do good on the online weekly quiz, they are a big part of your grade.

Professor Steer is an amazing teacher. I really wasn't to interested in taking Earth Science prior to taking it, but i'm happy i did. There is a good amount of work, but he's great at what he does. i would definitely recommend him.

I really hate science, and am really bad at it, but I still ended up with a B in the class. He gives a chance for so many extra credit points, that I'm not really sure how anyone could fail the class.
