I work in IT, and this class CGS2545C has been by far the hardest class I have ever taken. This class requires no book as he provides you the reading material (Super Heavy reading). His Practice Quiz and Reading material always line up, but when it comes to his Test, they are entirely irrelevant. I will be signing up with another instructor!

He's tough but fair. His tests are fairly difficult, but when it comes to assignments he gives extremely helpful feedback. He's also not a tough grader when it comes to homework, and when you do mess up, he's diligent to clarify what you messed up and how you can fix it. Overall, a great teacher!

Always available for extra help. Lectures are thoroughly explain course material and are very informative. Lots of reading (online notes and textbook). Corny programmer/dad jokes are great. He does not accept late work at all, so get you work done on time or get a 0.

Professor Grant is an excellent instructor. He clearly knows his material and he presents it in a variety of ways (lecture, class exercises, videos, supplemental reading material, etc.) so that students will learn. If you study and use all of the resources (including a teaching assistant) you can pass the class. He wants his students to do well.

Professor Grant is one of the better profs I've had so far. He goes into much detail to help you succeed in the projects and class. If you have a question, he'll answer it. Very interactive and kinda cheesy funny. Tests are confusing at times, but the rest is easy so long as you pay attention in class. Would definitely take again.

Lectures are great, I like them alot. You need the book like mad cus graded assignments come from there. Hard quizzes but all answer are in the book and it's open book from home. He answers questions after class and tries to make you understand.

Very professional, material is tough,& DETAIL oriented. Clear concise instructions are given for each assignment, if you follow the instructions, work and keep up, you'll do well. Very quick to respond to emails with lots of help. Just don't expect to coast through this class. It was tough but I learned a lot.

Important to actually read chapters. Must read online notes he creates as well. He creates videos with some explanations which help. There are only 7 assignments and 7 quizzes. You miss one and it can really ruin your grade (which is what I did). He responds fairly quick(sakai messages and forums)and is helpful.

He reviews chapters with powerpoints with key terms. Other than that he doesn't speak much, but he reminds you of deadlines which is good and if you ask for help he is willing to give it to you. As for the class, it is EXTREMELY easy. I'm really not great with computers but this class is cake.Just follow the guidelines in the book & you'll be fine.

He is open to questions, easily approachable. While he is a stickler for exactness, that is the point when it comes to programming and databases -- precision counts. Very good online materials in class modules, including video presentations for certain topics. Very respectful of the students.

Information was straight forward and available. The people who struggle with this class are those not willing to work hard and read the material several times if needed. Help was available through forums, email, and office hours. Yes, the class is hard but it prepares you better than any other "easy A" course would.

Professor Grant could not understand and give answers to posts by students with same question. The database table assignments were not specific enough for fields etc. Drop class before it is to late!!!!
