He is a cool professor. His lectures are not the most helpful but if you read the book and go to lectures, you will can pass. DO ALL THE HOMEWORK and download your attempts! They are the best ways to study. They are made from the same test bank!

Carrasquillo isn't as bad as I expected but I still had to learn a lot on my own. Read your textbook, watch Teets, do practice problems, bring questions to ACS and you should be fine. I've asked him questions after class and he seemed willing to help but he sometimes doesn't understand what you're asking. His lectures aren't great but he tries.

He was a super annoying professor. Always getting mad at students for leaving/entering the classroom after his lecture starts. The only aspect I liked about him is that he talks slowly and repeats his points during lecture multiple times. The problem is that NONE OF HIS POWERPOINTS MATTER AND THE INFO ON THERE IS NOT ON THE TEST. Read the book.

Professor Carrasquillo is by far one of the worst professors I had for my first semester in college. He doesn't post his notes and his lectures leave everyone confused for the homework and exams (which are worth A LOT). If you didn't take AP chemistry in high school, you aren't going to pass this class, at least not with this guy. Pick someone else

The lectures are useless. If you read the book you should at least get a B and for a better grade I'd recommend solving as many practice problems as you can. I honestly don't know how he is because I spent most of the time sleeping but I guess if you can go for someone else you definitely should

my expectations were set pretty low going into survey of PChem because people said it was hard and he was a bad professor. It met my expectations. Exams were easier than I thought.

He's a terrible professor. He gets distracted during lecture by students leaving and coming (students have lives outside of class TOO), answers his phone, and talks about his personal life during class time. The class could've been an easy A if it was taught by another professor.

Comment:
Prof. Carrasquillo's CHEM 1331 class is awful. His lectures are unclear, slow, draining, and unhelpful. He does not care about his students one bit. The chemistry department at UH is already bad enough, and Prof. Carrasquillo makes it about as bad as it can get. If at all possible, try to avoid him and take another lecturer.

Lectures are just him talking for one and a half hours. For once I actually wished we had more homework. You have one homework a week, and you're timed. He constantly reminds you how everyone fails this class, yet has never came up with ways to set up his students for success. Also wastes time telling us how he doesn't like people leaving.

Don't take this guys class, plain and simple. He doesn't care about anyone and whenever you have questions you will just be dismissed and told to read the book. He says to do practice problems but doesn't provide any. He expects you to teach yourself the material.

This class is very hard. You have to hope to get a test similar to what you studied. He does not seem very approachable either. The homework is worth only 6% of your grade while the test are worth 20% each. He does not post his lectures online. I would take any other professor.

By far the worst professor I have ever had. This is a weed-out class for a reason. You will have to teach yourself, his lectures are confusing and extremely boring. He has no respect for his students and will not help during office hours.

You have to teach yourself and pray you get a similar test to what you've studied. Each question you miss is detrimental. He is hateful, does not post notes, HW is barely worth anything yet you get dropped if you fail three. This is every professor, except some are less hateful. Your mental health is more important. Pick ANY other professor.

Worst professor Ive taken in my academic career. From the very the first day to the last, he was very rude and loved to belittle students who asked questions. He would either point us to past material or the book. He never really taught but would only Lecture. Sadly I did not take the advice of other reviews... and I paid for it.

He was not good at explaining things when someone didn't understand, and would basically just repeat himself. Failing more than 3 homework assignments is an automatic drop. Every test question is 1% of your grade. Says test questions are copied from homework but homework questions are random from a large bank so no telling if you'll see everything.

Chemistry at UH as a department is pretty bad overall. Carrasquillo isn't the best professor, but no matter who you have for Chem, you will have to learn most of it yourself. If you pay attention in class, you will learn a little bit about the things you need for the exams. If you put in the amount of effort, you will get the grade you want.

Felt as though this course was designed to weed out students, rather than teach them anything. As far as I understand this professor is on par with the rest of the chemistry department at UH. If you are not strong in math and chemistry prepare to dedicate a massive amount of time to this course if you intend on passing. Very disappointed.

Carasquillo does post his lecture slides/ notes online, and does not let you take pictures of the board. He covers alot in lectures but it's mostly conceptual. He post a practice exam the night before you're actual exam, you get one attempt but not considered extra credit.
