Comment:

She is a super nice and caring professor and does everything she can to make sure that you understand the material that she teaches. She is willing to work with your schedule and gives very easy quizzes (if you study the material). I would absolutely recommend her for anyone.

Comment:

Professor Scull is a great professor. The material she teaches you in the class if very valuable for the rest of your life. While your grade is based off 3 exams averaged together, each containing 5 chapters of material. While the textbook isn't mandatory, it is a great resource to check out from the library to help study for the exams. Attendclass

Professor Scull is a terrible professor. She is very nice, but I would never recommend anyone take this class. You get graded on 2 exams plus the final (not cumulative) and those are your only grades in the class. No homework. No quizzes. No extra credit opportunities. I was a 4.0 student before taking this class.

Comment:

Professor Scull has to be the absolute worst Professor I have had during my time in college. The class is made up of 3 tests all weighted evenly and nothing else. Material on tests is worded so badly. She rambles on and on about her son and family during class and it isnt helpful whatsoever. Avoid at all costs.

Comment:

Beth is the sweetest lady on earth. However, the whole class is based on 3 exams, no notes/powerpoints are used, and she ends up going off on tangents about her friends and family so you have to teach yourself. Go to every class, take notes word-for-word, and sit in the front. Even then, you might end up with a C.

I learned more about her family and her son than I did about finance. Dont take her if you can help it, she graded us on very few things but it was extremely hard to learn in her class.

Comment:

She doesn't do power points. There is no homework and only 3 tests all semester but you need to basically type everything she says, make flashcards, and memorize it. No study guides. As long as you are self disciplined, it is not hard. The information in this class is more useful in real life than anything else I have learned in college.

Very nice and gives you very helpful advice about your finance decisions about the future. Her class is not easy but is manegable to get an A. You just need to listen to whats important on the study sheet and filter out what she's rambling about and take notes because she barely takes notes and a lot of test materials come from the text book.

She's a really nice person and is knowledgable on the material, she just doesn't actually teach. She rambles and tells stories for the majority of class and rarely clearly defines topics. This is annoying due to the fact the only grades are 3 exams so having no real structure makes it difficult to ensure a good grade.

The tests are hard because in lecture she kind of rambles on and you don't really know what to take notes on BUT she gives you so much important info on personal finance that you can actually use in real life that it makes up for it. I've never taken a more practical class.

She's a very knowledgeable person about the material she just doesn't know how to teach it in a effective way. Your grades come from 3 test so if you do bad on the tests you're screwed. She just talks the whole lecture so it's hard to take notes an the test have nothing to do with what she talks about in class

A professor who truly cares. She is there for ANY questions you have, willing to go above and beyond for her students. She is very clear what is on the exam and let's people ask about anything they need to. Attendance is required, but she is such a gem it doesn't even matter.

Comment:

Took this class for a business minor and it was easily the best business class I've ever taken. Some of the material is difficult but you can use it in real life. Professor Scull is great, she'll give you financial advice even if it's unrelated to class. It's a lot of information but as long as you go to class and pay attention you'll do well!

I thought this class would be a breeze but the quizzes were surprisingly tricky. They are all based off what she goes over in class so you must pay attention, but it's very hard to take notes for all the topics she covers. The class was very helpful, but don't think you can slack off completely!

I would not recommend this professor to ANYONE. I took this class in the summer and after failing the first two exams, I went to her for help and she told me not to worry about it and she would get me out of the class. After failing the third and final exam as well, she proceeded to fail me in the course. I begged her to reconsider to no avail.

summer class She was willing to help students during class, but didn't have office hours. The tests were very hard. You HAVE to read the book (italicized words). If you can do the in class problems you should be able to do the math on tests. She gave extra credit if you went to all (or most) of the classes. 3 tests made up the grade.
