I felt that he was WAAAAY too hard for this class. It was a GDR for history and he graded like we were all history majors. I would advise taking this with a different professor.

Impossible. Really nice guy, but his teaching methods are terrible. He expects you to read his mind for essay material. I would rather he let his students think for themselves and use evidence THEY find useful.

Dr. Yonke is by far the best professor at UWSP. He expects a lot from his students but really cares that you learn and understand...ask lots of questions and sit in the front, and Yonke will love you.

This class is awesome with Yonke at the helm. He is great at steering discussion and there is rarely a day where I don't learn something new and interesting, or at least get a new look at something I already knew. Definitely glad I took 489 over 490, a pretty fun and actually really easy class. Take him!

A very interesting teacher even in a class at 8:00 am. He knows a lot about the founding of every religion and talks about that a focus of the class. He is a tough grader for a 100 level class.

as a student who had a copious amount of advisors, yonke was by far the most receptive, understanding, and willing to listen to my ideas. i took his pax, international studies, and history classes. you work your ass off for your grade, so it's something you can be really proud of. on a totally unrelated note, he's weirdly attractive. :)

OKay, I am pretty much a straight A student and I got a C+ in his class. I tried very hard and he expects you to know stuff he doesnt teach or is not in the book. If you love history and know a lot about it before this class, you should do okay. If not, don't take this class.

Awesome prof as soon as one gets his grade style down. He is a very hard grader and an A is definetaly earned in his class. Just don't to him and don't be afraid of him....he is a great guy!

He changed the format for every single exam that we had in that class...the exams were completly umpredictable and you never knew how to study them. If you forget to study one topic...all change of a B are lost for the exam. He was very tough, and hard to take notes from.
