Comment:

A great professor overall. Makes the content simple to explain and is always willing to meet outside of class to help. Really generous about make-up work. Statistics is pretty boring, but he does what he can to lighten the mood of the class. Easy quizzes, easy readings, easy homework. As long as you don't suck at math, you'll get an A.

Comment:

One of the best professors, he truly cares about his students. I was struggling in his class at first, but with his help during office hours was able to understand things clearly. He knows mathematics, he know how to teach it so that all of his students excell at it. He is an easy grader if you do the work, he wants everyone to pass and do well!

Comment:

Sorensen is the best! He's super funny and caring. As along as you pay attention in class and do the homework you should have no trouble getting a 3.0 or higher. He reviews all the material in class and gives you a fair amount of outside work. Highly recommend taking his class.

Comment:

Professor Sorensen was one of the best professors I've had at Bentley. He really cares about his students, grades very fairly, always tells you what to expect, and is hilarious. Lets you use a cheat sheet on every quiz, there's no midterm and the final is optional. Also offers so many extra credit opportunities. Definitely would recommend!

Comment:

Discrete with Sorensen is awesome. The homework is a bit tedious, and he gives a lot, but if you manage to get it done (and he grades it for completion), you'll get great on the tests. The chunk system (drop two tests or get out of the taking the final) is also very helpful, AND he gives extra credit. To top it off, he's the nicest guy ever. TAKE.

Great professor! You do have to put in the hours to learn and understand the material, but he gives very fair quizzes every week. The way he sets up the grading shows that he is trying to give students the best grade possible.

Sorensen is super nice and teaches the material well. Final exam is optional if your happy with your grade from the quizzes you take (total of 5). No cheat sheets so the quizzes are a little tough if you expect a 4.0, but does give a lot of opportunity for extra credit.

His grading system is very forgiving- much of the class ends up not needing to take a cumulative final. His dry humor is very entertaining, but he is better at explaining certain concepts than others. There are quizzes every single week, moderately challenging. No group work, attendance is optional, no participation grade.

Lots of homework but easy 4.0 if you keep up with it. You can skip the final if you're happy with your quiz grades. Tough grader (not big on partial credit) so read quiz questions carefully. Do the extra credit! Also the textbook is really simple and easy to follow.

Sorenson is awesome ! He goes over all necessary materials in class and provides a lot of examples. He's also very sweet and pretty funny too. He makes it interesting. I would highly recommend him to anyone

Professor Sorensen was one of my favorite teachers I had this semester, though I was not a fan of the subject of the class. The chunk grading system he uses ends up working out for the best, and he is very understanding and helpful. A really nice guy. His honors class wasn't very difficult, & his projects are easy. Take his class!

Not bad. Stats may get a bit difficult, but he usually teaches before we have to do the homework. Allows a cheat sheet on every quiz. Online homeworks may get to be a little difficult, but as long as you read you'll be fine. If you are happy with your quiz grades/project/participation, you don't have to take the final. I recommend taking him.
