Comment:

Professor was probably the best I've had at Kent. I came into class with good writing skills and she helped me to improve in every way possible. Took Media Writing for my minor and although she's tough, she gives you many chances to make up points with rewrites and in-class assignments. If you're attentive and participate, it's not too bad.

Where to being with this one? Professor Fran Collins is rude,disrespectful,and overall just a not a good professor.She might know a thing or two about what she lectures, but listening to her rants about issues that don't pertain to the class,along with her unnecessary and crude outbursts towards students are NOT worth going to her class. AVOID HER.

I had her for creative ad strategies. Well, she is down right tough. She knows the business and gets her point across, but she is the toughest grader you will encounter. She doesn't have a very good attitude, so it is hard to be positive about the class. Be sure to work on your writing skills before you take her.

She is a very negative person at times, but she is not necessarily MEAN. She is a better person if you go and speak with her in private. All in all, her bark is worse than her bite. Don't avoid her! She knows what she's talking about and you'll be a better writer and ultimately abetter student.

Fran is probably one of the best teachers I had at Kent State. She is a tough professor, but you will learn so much from her. You really will use what she teaches you. There is really no reason to avoid her. I highly recommend her!

Fran is kind of a grouch when it comes to attendance, grammar, style, usage, punctuation and talking. But other than that, she knows her stuff. Easy quizzes if you look over your notes before class, edit your papers!!!! Overall, take her! I learned sooo much from her, and she's nice if you bother to actually talk to her.

Fran is a tough teacher, but if you put the work in, you can get a decent grade in her class. She can be intimidating, but she knows what she is talking about. Fran won't be nice to you for no reason, but some students need to get thicker skin. I got a B+ in her advertising law class, even though I was convinced she hated me.

I had Fran for a lot of classes because I'm an advertising major. To make it simple, she's not a really pleasant person, but she knows her stuff. I did good in all her classes. Study notes. She never tests from the book. Go to class or else you'll be lost.

At first I thought she was just sarcastic and kinda funny, that is until I got my Exams back. I studied so hard for all of her exams, and always received poor grades. And to top it off, she always wrote condescending remarks on your paper, pretty much like "you're a dumass" Well I'm sorry Fran, but I'm not a lawyer!

I understand why she's so strict about grammar; she's trying to prepare you for the "real world." However, rather than encouraging students, she discourages them and basically tells them they'll never make it in the business. Her tests are mostly short answer, which means she can grade it however she feels like and you cannot argue. Homework, too.

It's an interesting class but Fran is a miserable woman who suffers from overconfidence. DON'T DROP IT- if you're in JMC you'll get stuck with her eventually. Just be ready each day for a pop quiz, except she's a lonely divorcee and realize you'd walk around with your fists up too if you looked like ben savage with lipstick.

I liked her teaching stlye. She is a good teacher, straightforward and doens't go on tangents so you know what will be on the tests. Must have book though because of pop quizes, but they are so easy if you do the reading, she'll let you know when a quiz will be. Sometimes she also just gives pts for going to class.. GO TO CLASS and you'll do well.

WOW. No respect for students, and seriously just a bitter person. I dont know who wronged her in her past life so bad, but she sure gets her kicks by letting it out on students who were once interested in her class. Very condescending when it comes to emails. DON'T TAKE HER!
