Comment:

She is the best professor at SJSU. She cares about increasing her student's knowledge and really want them to learn and succeed. The class consist of 3 exams, 3 group projects, and attendance/participation points. Her exams are not easy but they are mostly from the slides and she highlights the case study question so no study guide needed.

Comment:

Great professor! Class consists of: 2 exams, 2 group projects (papers), leading a class discussion with group, participation, and a final. Sounds like a lot but it really isn't. I'm glad I took her for BUS 189.

Comment:

Professor Gita was so sweet! Her lectures were honestly fun so I didn't mind going to class. She was very clear on what she wanted and was not a hard grader so that helped. 2 mids, one final, 3 group projects. You will have to study for her exams, but attend class, read the cases and understand the concepts and you're good. You actually learn.

She is a sweet lady, cares for you. I tried so hard just to get into her class. Her tests are hard but that doesn't bother me because I went to her office hours. If you want to give a bad review go ahead. Go to her office hours. Stay awhile and ask questions. She is glad to help you.

Comment:

For an 1 & 15 min class I don't think Gita realizes how much time it takes to finish her test. With response questions & tricky multiple choice I was always rushing to finish. She doesnt provide a study guide & her reviews are pointless because she just goes over EVERY slide and says study this! Felt like she made the class harder than needed.

I could pick more tags if I can. She is really good with her lectures but the quizzes are really hard. If you do not have enough time to study for her class don't take it. Tests are really hard. Drop the class if you don't have time or risk probation and/or a D /F . Wish she would teach 140 again. I need another shot.

Lectures were pretty dry due to the subject but the professor tries her best to implement some videos here and there to try and make it interesting. Definitely very passionate about the subject. You have to really buckle down and study for the midterm/final, don't solely rely on your cheat sheet.

You don't need the book TRUST ME. Her slides are enough for you to pass the class. Just come to class with the slides printed out and take side notes and you'll be just fine. Weekly quizzes but they're easy if you look over the slides. Exams are just basically longer quizzes. She's super nice and helpful ) No group projects which is a PLUS.

3 Exams and 12 quizzes. She allows 1 sheet of notes for exams, but doesn't feel like she give enough time. Exam is mc, tf and math calculations. She assigns HW for practice only. 2 lowest quizzes gets dropped.

She is very good at lecturing and clearly knows what she is talking about. Good at explaining hard concepts. 12 quizzes, 3 exams. Quizzes are pretty easy, tests are really long and a tad tricky but you get a cheat sheet. If you come everyday you'll get a b or higher for sure.

Well,quizzes are not hard if you read the lecture notes. But the exams are quite hard and are too long. She does let you use a cheat sheet. Heads up There's computation in every single chapter.

Her class is real chill. No projects just quizzes and exams and she allows a page of notes double sided. Exams are the same as the quizzes in terms content. She reads off the slides so attendance isn't really required. She also insists if anyone needs help to ask and she is very friendly.

The homework was optional, it could help you if you're struggling, but I got by without even looking at the book. The material isn't too hard, her lectures are pretty dry, and she doesn't allow computers in class. If you're a good student, you could get a B in her class without too much stress/ extra work.

She is very clear about the material she is teaching, and she can logically and concisely present the course material probably because of her engineer educational background. Her exams are exactly what she had emphasized in the preview session prior to the exam. You are allowed to bring a cheat sheet to the exam which is very helpful.

She is extremely knowledgable and very nice! The subject matter of this course is BORING AS HELL but I hardly did any work at all and got a B+. Homework is not mandatory. Quizzes pretty much every week and 3 or 4 exams. She definitely means business but she is very helpful and available to meet. Hated the material but liked her!

Dr. Mathur is well educated. She went to RPI, Berkeley, and Harvard. Therefore, she is really intelligent and a great resource for information. 3 exams, 13 quizzes, and attendance is mandatory to do well. Exams/quizzes points are not balanced so you can miss 1-3 and get a B. Even though you understand 95% of the concepts?? Nice person though.

so i gota B+ u need the book i studied my ass off no hw;) however 13 quizzes, so ur gona constantly study BEWARE. her lectures are unless!! 2 mt her mt are like the quizzes, quizzes are mc and fill in, or long answers the format varies so i found it hard at times. no classwork ever but u HAVE to STUDY

overall an easy class if you keep up with the readings and attend class, she goes through the problem sets. there is a quiz every week (no notes) and they prepare you well for the midterms and final (hand-written notes allowed). she is one of the only professors in the CoB that does not allow laptops... so lecture is informative but can get boring

Very easy class. Open note mt's and final were almost jokes. Just be careful with the quizzes as they are worth 25% of your grade and not open notes. You better study for them the night before. This class is BORING so make sure you bring some crossword puzzles or sudoku puzzles.
