Nice lecture class & professor. He helps clear/clarify a lot of things in the reading; so it's worth coming to the lectures if you're having trouble understanding the readings. I also like how he gives the study questions (for the midterm and final) well in advance; it really helped me prepare for the exams. =]

Lectures may be boring for some, but as long as you are interested in learning about philosophy, he will make concepts that are hard to understand in the text pretty clear in lectures. don't know much about how he is as a person, but from what I got he's a decent professor and is enthusiastic about philosophy.

I loved Philosophy in high school, and well, this class totally sucks! Boring lectures (made no sense!), lab leader was useless (didn't speak English) and it was a tough 100 level class. Hated going to class, makes you feel like an idiot. AVOID! Oh yeah, tests are 3 essay's (gives a study guide) but HARD grading. Turned me away from philosophy.

You better be the kind of person he likes because if you're not he completely ignores you and pompously patronizes you. Very liberal, and largely unclear about why. It seems to be more a fashion for him than something he can teach alot about.

Great guy! Laid back and approachable. He enjoys his job and has fun at! May come off as presumptuous until you get to know him. Liberal, but OPEN-minded, as versus what these 101'ers have to say. Cool guy. Nietzschean scholar. Very keen insights.

learned a lot from his class. he's pretty liberal. one midterm, one final, two quizzes and a homework. easy. he gives you about 8 final questions to study and chooses 3 or 4 so you know exactly what to study. knows what he's talking about. seems to dislike the U.S.

A kindly gentleman. Smart. Politically confused: antidemocratic yet progressive, a kind of Tory conservative of the 19th century sort. Philosophically peculiar: a Nietzschian mystic (really, perhaps a Jungian). I like this guy.

Mild-mannered type of guy... He basically comes across as someone who dislikes all that the U.S. stands for and his material proves it. He provides an alternative viewpoint and is very liberal. I encourage you to speak up in class -- he likes it. Gvie him a challenge! He won't mind. :-)
