Comment:
Dr Petrova is a very knowledgeable professor and she can be very caring at times. While in class participation isn't mandatory, about 95% of the things you will learn in the class is based on in class notes. Exams are very hard, so make sure that you actually understand the material and not just have the formulas memorized. Decent professor for 308

A very caring professor, but she won't give you any extra points unless she clearly thinks you deserve it. It's not her fault too much that the 308 is so difficult, it's a lot of material and not enough time.

Make sure you get all the credit you can from Homeworks and Quizzes, because you will not get that aid from the exams. The exams are extremely long and difficult, you literally need to MASTER the topics to get any credit at all. She is a very tough grader and does not really give partial credit. She is funny and sweet though, so class is kinda fun

She is a wonderful and interesting lecturer, although her lectures can be a little confusing sometimes. If you take the time, it is easy to grasp what the important things to know are. She quizzes every once in awhile but they are not designed to kill your grade. Tests are weighted a lot, but she does curve. She expects a lot out of you, but cares.

She is fantastic and works out examples just like what will be on the tests and quizzes. Tests make up a HUGE portion of your grades, but they are curved. Attendance isn't mandatory but she learns everyones names and will call you out on being late or skipping. Beware she volunteers people for examples.

Dr. Petrova's office hours conflicted with some of my other classes, so when I asked her for help, she would stay after class to explain the material to me to make sure I properly understood it! Going to her class is essential. The tests are pretty difficult, but she understands that it is difficult, and she curved the class accordingly.

she's a very nice person and knows almost all of her students names. diffeq is hard so it's definitely not her fault. doesn't post lecture notes and her lectures are convoluted sometimes. she also breezes through a lot of examples and expects you to know things from calc 2.

Hands down one of the best profs for diff eq. This is a class you have to try in to do well in because she doesn't post lecture notes. Do the review for exams and find a study group, they help out a lot. She does call people to the board to work out problems and will call you out if you skip (no mandatory attendance.) I highly recommend her!

She is an awesome professor. Her quizzes are over the recommended homework and lecture examples. She gives a review that are similar to the exam. The final is multiple choice. She is super helpful and willing to help. She does harder examples in class so you have them as reference. Attendance isn't mandatory but she'll call you out for skipping.

The final was one of the hardest I've ever taken and the exams were also hard but doable. She is a great lecturer and makes differential equations about as entertaining as it can be. Know integration methods really well because she will expect you to be able to integrate without reviewing it in class. She curved grades at the end of the semester.

This class is insane. By far the most difficult class and still one of the most boring classes I've taken in my life. My first ever C... Had a 3.7 before this semester so not amazing but this class was rough. Makes the class unnecessarily difficult and if you don't remember ALL of calc 2 just do not take her. Makes people go up on board.

No mandatory hw, just suggested practice problems. I only studied the long reviews she gives for exams and that was enough to pass the exam. Attendance isn't mandatory, but I suggest going because most of the hard problems from lecture are on the exams. Within a month she usually knows everyone's name, so she will notice if you attend or not.

She is very fair and lenient in her grading, and she gives good lectures. Be sure to take good notes, and the quizzes are straightforward, she tells you what will be on them. Show up to class, it is very important that you do. You should be alright as long as you do these things and put in the effort. Overall, a good professor.

Took Petrova for 308. She only gives two tests and a final but her super long review for the tests covers everything and more than what the test will have on it. She does the hard problems on her tests in class so while it's not mandatory to go you will have a hard time passing if you dont go.

She is a pretty good teacher. I understood the majority of what she was saying, and she is very willing to answer questions. She gives you quizzes, and there is a project involving matlab. She does have problems assigned for each chapter to do for homework, but they aren't graded. They're just there for practice. Warning: her tests are very long.

The class isn't that bad. She calls people up to work problems but helps you out along the way. She doesn't assign homework but there are weekly quizzes and a project at the end of the semester. The tests can be long so you have to know what you're doing. Overall, it isn't a bad class.
