Comment:
This was the most work ever for a 1 credit class. Forces you to attend lectures through random quizzes that are super difficult; the last quiz was pretty much an exam and took place after labs had already ended. Also during lectures he will assign more work to hand in with lab reports and he often assigns it the week the report is due. Ridiculous.

Comment:
A lot of memorization, so don't slack. Gives a couple of 10 pt quizzes per week, drops the lowest one. Goes exactly section through section, so follow the textbook. To do well on his tests you need to do and understand his previous tests, send him your answers and he'll correct them. Built-in-curve on each test, so curves a little/maybe not at end.

Terrible, terrible Professor. Wants the students to fail and is sneaky about his grading. He has random quizzes in his lectures in order to force you to attend, and will "update" lab report assignments with additional work without proper notification, he'll just mention it in his lectures and expect you to be responsible for it. Avoid at all costs.

Will knock points for trivial things. He is uncompromising and unimaginative. His lectures are boring. His lab manual is confusing. Only good thing about the course is the TA's. He is somewhat helpful 1-on-1, but I found it difficult to work with him.

bad. Just plain bad. Makes a lot of mistakes. On the NMR he gave out, it was wrong, so I spent 2 days trying to find the answer to a wrong answer. Obviously, I didn't find the answer. Horrible. I hate him with a passion

Took the summer courses (both orgo I and II with labs). If you listen to him, take good notes, and study from his notes and follow along in the book, you'll be fine. Of course, Organic Chem is difficult and it's even more difficult to teach. I did well in the class because I worked to learn the material. It's not a spoonfeeding class.

Taught material very clearly and simply, but when it came to exams there was always something tricky on them that was not seen in class or on the homeworks making it unfair for those who were taking the class for the first time. Not to mention he does not curve grades... Wait for the school year to take this or don't take the lab with it.

WORST LAB LECTURER EVER!!! Best part of the class was rating his sweaters. His is extremely boring and yells at you when you aren't wearing goggles in the lab. If you ask him a question, he looks at you like your stupid. He is mean and should definitely retire. Avoid CHM 207 and 208 if you can!

I have never had a worse "professor" in my life! He's someone who gives little to no interest in helping you out; in fact, actually wants you to fail and have a miserable life. His labs are easy to do, but writing them is hell...avoid avoid the toad (looks like one too haha)

Boring and never really explains himself well. Puts me to sleep every lecture, yet will pull out a quiz when he feels like the class is not understanding the material... way to kick us when we are down.

ugh. tried to make chem lab more important than it should be. tried to teach during lab lectures in such a boring manner that all you do is fall asleep. Kudos for trying i guess. Pretty sneaky about his lab quizzes. Make sure you pick out the easiest version.

He is a socially inept individual - not going to his office hours is highly recommended. Taught summer Orgo in a very clear way and was very fair about grading. Was a horrible lab coordinator for CHM 207 and 208, though.

a terrible prof. can seem docile and nurturing at first, but don't be fooled. he is evil in human form. today he felt the need to clarify something in an email...he said "i am not totally heartless." take from that what you will.

awfull, this joke of a professor seems to take pride in all the ways through which he intimidates the students to follow his strict rules. He is not helpful at all, his lectures are boring and he's just downright mean. there is absolutely nothing redeaming about professor toder, avoid him if at all possible.

I don't know why the university keeps people like this around. They do us no good at all and help to ruin the experience of being a student at UR. He needs to get a life (and an orgo textbook to learn from)
