He was an okay professor. His tests are very difficult, but he has a generous curve and has study sessions before the tests. If you study hard enough, you'll be okay.

he started off realli nice, going slow and clear. then the midterms are nothing like the study guide or wht he's been doing in class. but the final was similar to the study guide. so the ppl b4 must meant final exam, not just exam... (he calls midterms short exams). if u have a choice, not recommended...

He does not test according to his study guides. In his tests, if you can't fully complete one question you will not be able to complete the next...they are connected. Are class average was well below 50% on both midterms(F), and he said he did better than past classes. If you are not great at chem but really need a good teacher..not the one.

He is the epitome of a university professor. Fair, no tricks. His examples is your exam; this means you can get an A if you try. He is somewhat monotone, so you need to caffeinate yourself prior to class. He will help you if you show interest, go to his office hours and ask questions, get involved. BTW, best Chem 101-103 instructor in CSULA, yet.

Very hard comparing Dr. Santillan and Nickoliason. Act too strict and absolutely not a cool teacher.

Not a great lecturer, so be prepared to study a lot on your own. His test questions are EXACTLY like the sample test questions he hands out, so don't worry about the other review sheets or extra problems from the book.

Still taking this course. So far he's nice and humorous. Because it's lecture and he doesn't take roll, you can survive just by reading the text. The lectures are often boring.

His lectures are boring and the examples he uses will be in the tests. But it is possible to pass w/o going to the lectures. That's what I did and I passed with flying colors. Nice old man. He's only 1 handed due to a freak accident at CSULA.

This professor was aloof to me. He seemed helpful, but not really. I couldn't concentrate in part mostly due to my lack of time spent on the class, but his review sessions and review sheets are helpful. Just be sure to do a lot of practice problems.
