Probably one of the worst chem teachers. His lectures doesnt help you for his exams. He is always easygoing in teaching and when exams come, you will suffer. He makes you do group work and in the end alot of students dont even end up solving it.

worst professor/class i've ever taken. HE TEACHES ORGANIC CHEMISTRY TO A BUNCH OF NON-CHEM MAJORS IN AN INTRO TO CHEM CLASS. there is always something due, i've literally missed a handful of assignments because i didn't know they existed. i could go on and on. i can't speak any lower of him, please please save yourself the panic attacks.

Dr. Tikannen will make you work for your grade! There will be 3 midterms and 1 final. He gave us the opportunity to replace the second midterm with the first midterm only if we did well. He makes you think outside the box!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING TO HIS REVIEW SESSIONS AND OFFICE HOURS SO HE CAN SEE YOU ARE ACTUALLY TRYING.

i have no words for this man. he assigned three websites of chem heavy work all due around the same time, moodle, aleks, and owl. He made me teach myself chemistry. i felt like i learned nothing in this class. you know what you teach yourself, good luck in lab because your supposed to understand that all on your own too.

I was honestly already lost the first day, he doesn't teach anything that's on the homework so prepare to self teach yourself by reading the textbook or other material on your own time. His grading method is also questionable. I don't recommend him to anyone.

This class was by far the most stressful class I have taken. Tests were veryvdifficult. His tests were mainly question which are applied in the real world. Although this class was hard work this professor is pretty good but I recommend if you want a B or higher that you go to review sessions, office hours, and go over his previous midterms.

He does not teach. He gives a lot of homework, and almost none of it is relevant to his midterms. you don't have enough time to finish his tests. His midterms aren't hard, they are just chocked full of meaningless unit conversions which bog you down, plus an essay in just 50 mins. He needs help. He has lost touch with what it means to teach

He gives a lot of horrible homework. Its just piles of busy work. He posts assignments spontaneously without warning. They are typically due at midnight and before class starts through online. He uses 3 sites which you have to check regularly. One of which is a total mess (his own moodle) which has 3 separate links for assignments....

Dr. T is great. If you put the time in, you WILL get a good grade (curves). His test are every bit as hard as ppl here say, but unless you are in school to get easy A's on a Gen Studies BA, you will need to spend time w/ material. He rewards you for it. Took him 101 and 102, got an A and B+, took another prof for 103, got perfect on both midterms.

Hardest class ever. Lecture is useless, which is why barely anyone goes. If you can, find someone better. I hear Allison McCurdy better. Aleks and owl make you understand concept, but is never on midterm. He really overcomplicates problems on tests. I did horrible on midterm 1 and 2. Hopefully his grade curve makes me pass. He does give pop quizzes and is also a tough grader, he is there for you if you ask. he has 2 midterms which are HARD and involve real world problems or applications, his questions involve all of the topics covered. his lectures are fun and he explains if you ask, his owl quizzes are on material you haven't covered, but they aren't weighted heavily

Taking his class is the worst decision I have made in my entire life. He makes everyone print his notes. He doesn't even finish the notes, barely explains. He gives quizzes but ON THE THINGS THAT HE DIDN'T EVEN TEACH. aHe doesn't even mention that we have a quiz. His tests are extremely hard. He gives questions that he didn't even teach..

Dr. T is the most amazing prof I had. Class was at 8 am, and he went out of his way to engage people and get everyone excited about chem. I went into this class looking at it as a hurdle, but left with a love of chemistry. You have to work for the grade, but Dr T is a fair grader and amazing instructor. I would take his class again in a heartbeat.
