Comment:

Gender/Society review: The lectures can be boring, but it is an interesting topic that not many pays attention to. There are 3/4 tests, an essay on tests, and final is optional. Tests are hard! She comes off easy, but NO. Also there is a book, Egalia's Daughters, a paper due on it. The paper saved me! Cant say its a must take class? :/

This class was easy. The tests were online, the final exam was not cumulative, there was one group project at the end of the semester, there were a couple papers, and there is no required textbook. To top it all off, Dr. Eigenberg does not take attendance.

She is one of the reasons I'm no longer attending UTC. The class was like a**** class. It was nasty. You must do the reading!!!! It's mandatory. I had to take this class for my major. It's not hard if you do the work. It's disturbing though. And her book is dry.

Great class. She handled a difficult topic well. Found her to be fair. To the guy below me...are you kidding?? You expect a prof to give you 4 points? Since when is a 66% a C? Maybe you need to take a remedial math class.

I thought she did a great job teaching the Violence Against Women class. The assignments were hard to get through emotionally, because you had to read first hand accounts of****victims. I think it's a great class and teaches you a lot in terms of the atrocities performed against women in society.

very arrogant. She is not interested in helping her students. for some reason she thinks that a 200 level course is the class to start weeding out the failures!! She grades her papers as if she were the head of english,and her exam questions are all trick questions!! She will also assign way too much reading..i'd avoid her if you can...

Dr. Eigenberg is not in the profession to teach but to gain power and lord it over her students. She is not interested in whether or not students learn the material. She just wants to make sure the students know she is the boss. She should stick to administration and leave teaching to those who really want to teach because of the students.

Dr. Eigenberg definetly expects you to be prepared and that your work be of good quality. Definetly not a good teacher for the lazy, but if you're willing to do the work, you might actually learn something...

Dr. Eigenberg is a great teacher. She loves what she is teaching and makes it very interesting. She gives you study guides for the tests, I studied them, but didn't find much of the information on there. I didn't do very well in the class, but I loved it.

Comment:

Dr. Eigenberg knows her subject. She wants people to be aware of the rampant violence that is often swept under the carpet. Tough class; lots of reading; tough stuff to read. There was one guy in our class & she was not mean to him at all as some have suggested she doesnt' like men. She just doesn't like men who abuse others.

When i registered i was excited because i thought this class would be fun. it was not. it has way too much reading for a 200 level class and her tests have trick questions. i do not feel like she grades essays or papers fairly and she does act like this is the only class you have. demanding and has a "know it all" attitude about everything.

Everyone should take this class. Even if you think you know about VAW, you will learn so much. I've never heard her say a negative generalization about men. She is dedicated to VAW and is extremely competent. I'd like to take another class with her.

I like her, and I have learned a lot about this class. I don't believe she hates men, like someone else said. She's real big on stopping violence against women though, and you learn a lot in the class. I truly think it's a good idea to take it, and I like her as a teacher.
