Comment:

Very old school style of teaching. All assignments are handwritten, as she has no efficiency with excel. The exams are a few questions but require you to remember formulas from a number of chapters. The HWs took me hours to complete and became tedious. Go to her office hours, even tho she may get annoyed when you ask her many questions. SHE SUCKS.

Nice person and approachable but takes off random points on quizzes and HW. Questions are answered as if she were Yoda, eventually you will figure out the answers from youtube

Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT take this professor. She is ridiculously old school and makes you write out your homework assignments on paper and they take forever to do. Her exams consist of 5-7 questions and they are difficult even if you study for days. No extra credit, and the curve is barely effective. Avoid at all costs.

Comment:

Hw usually takes 4+ hrs to do has to be handed in in class every week. She also grades the hw like it's a test. It has to be exact or the whole problem is wrong. She doesn't know how to use excel, she's terrible at explaining everything, gets snappy if you ask questions and makes you memorize all equations. My advice: buy Chegg from the start.

Very old school professor. Makes constant mistakes when giving examples on the board and when grading homework. Bumbles her way through excel to demonstrate things during class that you then have no clue how to do because she can't teach it. If you're a naturally good math student you'll be fine but if you struggle take another professor

I'm sitting in class dumbfounded by how naive this professor is. This is an excel based course yet she says she doesn't know how to test us on excel so the test is all on paper. Excuse me, but have you spoken to anyone in the School of Business? Or other professors that teach this course? It's all online tests! How do you grade excel on paper?? smh

She's the only professor that teaches probability. My advice to you is to go to office hours as much as possible for hw help, go to class and pay attention, and study hw assignments AND class notes for tests. It's a pretty hard class especially if you're new to this topic. As long as you follow all of this advice, you'll pass.

Was one of the worst teachers I have ever had, very disorganized. Probability is a relatively easy course, but she made it very confusing. Every class - without fail - she would mess up example problems & have to go back & find the mistakes she made - it was better to skip class & teach yourself. Also very argumentative if you questioned her

If and whenever you need help, Dr. Roberts is there to give it. As a not so great math person, she was willing to meet with me on a weekly basis in order to ensure that I was understanding the material I was having difficulty with. She grades for partial credit and is always trying to get you as many points as possible on homework and exams.

Previous STAT 541 comment is dead on! She can be nice, but is rude at times. She starts getting an attitude when you ask her question. Her emails back if you are having difficulty using SAS are VERY rude, but she DOES fix the program. I thought the material was fairly easy - no book for this course. Pretty easy grader.

If u are a foreign student just don't talk to her and pray that she'll never notice your accent and you'll be fine. Favors a lot a small group of students and is really rude w/ others. Never complain to her about anything, smile and she'll like you - NEVER ASK QUESTIONS! (cause if she can't answer - happens a lot...- you'll be on her black list).

She is the math chair person, and I seriously feel bad for anyone who is a math major at Montclair State University. She is a horrible person, unwilling to help a graduating senior - She does not seem to know her stuff either. If you ever need help with anything reguarding math - do not go to her!

Something happened in the beginning of the semester, she never came back but while she was there she was the teacher and she wasnt really willing to help people who had questions and kind of made you feel dumb. She was real easy.. dont go to class just know when the tests are, its a joke, find someone in the class and share a book, its a waste of $
