She's great! Always SUPER helpful and she WANTS you to pass the class; she doesn't "set you up for failure." If you do the homework assignments and put in time each day, there is no reason for you to fail her class. I LOVED her!

Comment:

She is most helpful if you ask for help and are prepared. She co-authored the lab book that you will use in lab, saved me lots of money. Very reasonable, is willing to help and is encouraging. Would highly recommend her, just do exactly what is expected, read your labs ahead and you will learn what you need to.

A very nice lady and good teacher who doesn't suffer fools. For those who say that they cannot understand her accent, I say, please get an education. The world consists of people from places other than the US. If you came to class, did the work, and studied before the test you were fine. I learned a great deal in her class, but I put in the time.

Well I LOVED her. If you go to class and recitation, follow her online class notes, and do the homework, you WILL do well. EVERYTHING on the test is listed in her online course notes - simply study EXACTLY what is listed (duh)! Chemistry is not easy, but she made it AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE, and cut out A LOT of material we didn't need to know.

I did fine in her class because I read the book, but she is a horrible teacher. What kind of teacher actually encourages students to drop her class just because they ask questions? She is very nasty to all the students and does not keep you interested in Chemistry. Friends took the same class with another teacher and loved it. Do not take her!

Prof. Boer is a good chemistry teacher. She was responsive to the online site for the hybrid class I took, and was very reasonable. Her notes could use some grammatical and spelling work, but overall she made the class interesting and easy.

i disliked her from day one idk why but it was just a vibe she gave off. i cudnt understand her accent at all and she is SO DISCOURAGING! seriously, there were like 100 students when the class began and she told like 90% to drop, now there are barely 30 or 25. her exams are impossible everyone failed them. she is a nice lady tho ill give her that

I have had alot of professor's and THIS ONE IS THE WORST!!! I am not kidding. This is not "sour-grapes" I did ok, because I taught myself and did not ask questions in class. The subject is not that hard, but she will make a wreck out you. Stay away from her. She should not be allowed to teach. SHE WILL SET YOU UP FOR FAILURE!!!

This freakin lady will do you wrong!! Trust me do not take her....She did me sooo wrong..she had given me some extra points for this homework I did...and I didnt do it all...but she still gave it to me..then this 1 student came to her and complained..and she changed my grade w/o telling me! I was soo upset..Very unprofessional...

Doesn't allow her students to laugh, smile, look in any direction but towards the board. Hates when others ask questions. Her uncontrolled anger discourages many to participate in class. Her lectures are difficult to understand. But you aren't missing out on much - she just recited the textbook.
