He is a smart man but a horrible teacher. Extremely boring. Test heavy. His slides are hard to understand. His lectures are pointless because he is hard to understand. His exams are very date heavy like when did this law pass rather than testing concepts. Memorise problem sets and quizlet questions and you shoule be okay but i say DONT TAKE HIM!

avoid. if you are okay with remember everything from lecture notes, take this class for easy A without even go to any single class and recitation. you will find that this professor only read his slides, and give vague explanation. if you are really looking for understanding the concept of money and banking, definitely avoid.

Prof McCulloch is a nice, intelligent and helpful man. He tries to make the class interesting. You won't even have to buy the books, he will upload them online and homeworks will also be online. Go to him after class if you don't get something. Exams are all multiple choice questions you just have to memorize a lot of details and you'll be fine.

8 words out of 10 in his sentence are useless. he uses his own book as textbook. didn't read a word of it. his slides are in handwritten form, abbreviations out of no where. ambiguous wording and answer for multiple choices in homework. TAs are nice. she TRIED to help. hard exams. make sure you do the samples. avoid if you can.

He is an okay teacher & gives you tools that you put to use in 642 which can be a much more interesting course (take it with de Jong). Grading is fair but I didn't really understand what we were doing it just became a plug and chug thing to get the homework done. Tests are similar to the old ones and keep/bring your old STAT 245 book, very helpful!

He's very boring. The textbook is useless. Lectures are useless. He posts all lecture notes online and then just reads off of them during lecture with no elaboration. TAs do the homework for you. I got an A without ever going to lecture and simply studying the day before each exam. Exams were very similar to old exams.

going to arps to do the hws sucks, so don't leave them to the last minute. work in groups so noone has to work too hard. he gives practice midterms and finals that are very similar to the real thing. super smart guy; he's written a paper on everything. occasionally makes really nerdy jokes.

Most annoying part of the class was having to go to Arps to do the homework in the lab. Understanding is not a requirement of getting a good grade because he gives practice tests and lets you use them on the midterm and final. Average curved to B or B+.Never opened book, shouldn't have bought it.

His class is a waste of time. I stopped going when I realized I was sleeping through them. I read the book and the TA basically did the HW for us. I did the practice exams, and that's really all you need. 60% of the questions are just reworded practice questions. The rest... random things he says that you can guess if you follow the news.

umm hes pretty easy. um just do the practice exams because uh most of the questions are the same or just asked differently (least likely becomes most likely). uhhh class is boring. um hw is easy and your TA should do it uh do it for you. umm take him or osman. uhh you'll understand the ums and uhs if u ever have his class. umm solid curve on exams.

Teaching sucked. But overall pretty easy class. Lecture not necessary. Just buy the book and study the practice exams and you will do fine. Final wasn't as similar to the practice tests but still got an A- for the qtr. HW is 20% of grade and practically a gimme. Overall, awful teacher but grading was very fair with a pretty nice curve.

True- he is definitely not good at lecturing. But really- can anyone complain about the exams- which ultimately make up your entire grade- NO. They're practically identical to the practice ones. Also, I think he's a hot old guy. If I could mute him during lecture it would be nice. =]

Do not take his class unless you plan on teaching yourself. I shouldnt have gone to class, because I always walked out wondering what the hell he was talking about. "Ummmmmm.... Ehhhh. Ummmmm..." Dear god, I could never concentrate on what he was saying because I was too busy counting how many times he hesitated!! He needs to take Bus Adm 499!

Don't take him unless you want to teach yourself. He's very smart, but needs to realize that he is often talking over the heads of his students. When he asks if anyone has questions, no one responds because we would have to ask what he just said for the past hour. Study old exams. He wrote the books and it is the same style of speaking.

Dr. McCulloch is very smart and one of the most distinguished members of our economics faculty. He is incredibly well-versed in econometrics, but his lectures are very boring. To his defense, it might be impossible to avoid being boring, and he makes what could be a very difficult class quite easy.

You have to realize coming into this class that it is going to be boring. That being said McCulloch does a great job presenting the material. Midterm and final are open book and notes. He is very fair with what he expects you to know. If you do your homework and somewhat understand them you should do fine.
