Very interesting Professor. He might have the charisma of others but the courses I took with him were fascinating if one is actually interested in learning.

Although he's retiring, he still teaches one class during the upcoming Summer 2015 semester. Your grade is based on two essays (midterm and final) and on the day of the exams, all he does is read the newspaper and not supervise the class so it's easy to cheat on the exam. Lectures are boring and unclear. Professor doesn't help out at all.

Professor Robertson was the worst professor I have ever had. I took him not knowing it was his last semester before retirement. His lectures are boring, he speaks very quietly due to health issues. His lectures were extremely disorganized. There are only 2 testsessays(midterm and final). He's a hard grader. Doesnt respond to emails or voicemails.

Really long lectures no one can understand, everyone just shows up for the midterm and final. Have to write essays (2 total) and he grades them really hard. basically a self learn class

Seriously the most boring class I've ever endured. He's an handicapped elderly man who speaks too soft to teach a class. Your grade is basically made up of your midterm and final exam grade, which consists of in-class essays. Goodluck!

No corrections on tests whatsoever. Lectures add exactly nothing to the class except the rare instances when he disagrees with the book. Rambles, and is rarely on topic. Midterm will be returned to you about two weeks before the final with zero feedback. Takes off for spelling and handwriting. Will fail entire class, and will not accept fault. DONT

IF you show up to class (sit in the front), and listen, you can really learn a lot from his lectures. I loved taking a class with Robertson 1. because i'm actually into history 2. He goes off into tangents and 3. when you get your blue books back he tells you the correct facts when you get them wrong. Just write every word he says.

Prof Robertson is not a great speaker but man he knows his stuff! When you ask q's about history, he will give you very detailed answers. The toughest part about this class, other than paying close attention bc he speaks quietly, are the midterm & final. You need to be able to write good essays. I got a B bc I knew the info but couldn't write well.

You can't help but feel a little for Professor Robertson. I mean he has his own issues and likes to discuss them sometimes in class. He is a little on the dry side and when he notices the class starting to fall asleep he tries to crack a joke to wake everyone up. Talks very slow and quiet. I would not recommend this professor.

Professor Robertson is a smart man but a terrible teacher. I seriously regret taking this man's class. He has too many personal problems to focus on this class properly. SAVE YOURSELF DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!

Completely bitter old man who shows nothing but arrogance the entire semester towards his students. He wants to "prepare" you for college but maybe he should change his teaching ethics because i learned absolutely nothing the entire semester. Do not take this course unless you want to fall asleep.

Boring teacher who is blind. He cant see you in the back so leave when hes not looking. Some said I should have taught the class. Avoid him at all costs. He literally talks to a wall. Don't think he is an easy grader either. If you hate essays then this is not for you. Be smart, take someone else.

He says the class is UC level. Not true, I go to a UC. He says that the things he emphasizes in class will be his essay prompts. Not true, they were about things he barely covered. Rambles about nothing, and wastes valuable time class time. My advice if you have to take the class is to read your book. He's the worst prof I've ever had.

All you need to do is read the book and know how to write a decent essay. This class was very easy and Prof. Robertson knows about each topic and can get you involved into the discussion. If you read the book, it would not be a problem writing your essay. Warning: you need to know how to write an essay to get a good grade!

I agree with the last statement. He doesn't just skim the surface of history, he wants you to use your brain. I am no teacher's pet, but he knows what he's talking about and obviously taught for a long time, he gives grades college students deserve. College is not an addition of High School. He's easy if you use your brain enough.

I dissagree with most of these comments, remember, teachers don't teach for the heck of it, they teach for the Student's interest, only to those who don't pay attention in class and instead are playing computer games (yes, i've seen it happen) to he can be useful. He grades at college level not azt high school level which is what most students like

He goes off tangent about his personal life... even if you don't pay attention and study the book you still get a C... he says that whatever is on the board is on the test... which is a total lie. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS

Lecture only teacher with difficult tests! Even if you go to his lectures and do the homework, you still may not pass his class! His tests are 6 questions, pick one and do an essay, but you don't know what he will pick before hand and he gives you no clues... he also has the tendency to ramble and go off topic a lot!
