Comment:

Easy class, but Mr. Loose is terrible at teaching. None of the students found his lectures even remotely helpful. However, he has constructed the class so that you don't ever need to listen to him. If you want to skip class and study on your own. He's the teacher you want. Very generous partial credit. Curves a lot. Really nice guy.

Comment:

Terrible in lectures. Many mistakes and sometimes didn't know where he had gotten his answers. Gives great partial credit if you show any hint that you know how to work the problems on testsquizzes. The homework isn't required but helpful. Pretty much teach yourself. PASS classes were helpful.

Comment:

Jack Loose did not give exciting or helpful lectures at all. He would review homework that he had already done on the computer, but wouldn't go step by step on how to do problems that would be helpful. He would always make test problems more difficult than any of the homework problems we practiced for no reason. Test 2 avg: 53, test 3 avg: 40's

Mr. Loose is a brilliant, personally helpful, but difficult in lecture teacher. Possibly, his approach has changed based on these previous rates, but his tests are not exceptionally difficult and he is a VERY fair grader often assigning extra points to a test just because. Master the homework (you may have to teach yourself). The tests are easier.

This professor was just awful. Made mistakes in class every day, did not answer questions with clarity, assigned HW problems that had nothing to do with the test, and does not give good advice when one on one tutoring. Never take a class with this professor ever, seriously ever. This is my 2nd time in this class. Class average was a 50 to 60.

Worst teacher ever. Tests are nearly impossible to finish in time allotted. Previous tests have no correlation to material to be tested. Reviews are pointless when the professor is confused by his own solutions and/or provides inaccurate answers. Avoid him at all costs.

AWFUL professor. I learned more from YouTube videos than I ever could have from him. Can't read writing, he always screws up example problems. Tests are NOTHING like homework problems or class examples. Very arrogant, assumes you know things that he is supposed to be teaching you. Avoid at all costs. UAH needs to let him go

HORRIBLE teacher, only person anyone has ever heard of that wont let you use an equations sheet on tests.. so unless you wanna add memorizing about 30 page width equations while also trying to learn how to actually work the problem.. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!!

Jack Loose is a really nice guy. Cares about his students and likes to get to know you. His tests and quizzes can be pretty tough, and so are the projects, but he gives good partial credit. He can be a bit scatter brained at times during lectures, but he knows what he's talking about. Just do the HW, ask Q's and read the book and you'll be fine.

Dynamics is a difficult class no matter what. Mr. Loose is a VERY nice man who is willing to help students who seek it. However, he does not allow formula sheets for his tests (except on final exam) and they are somewhat challenging. I did well in the class, but I will not say it was easy. If you understand the homework problems you'll be fine.

Extremely nice guy, but teaches at a pHD level, way over your head. Has trouble showing examples on the board, makes many mistakes, backs up, tries again, etc... Whether done purposely or not, his tests are designed to take too much thinking to complete in the time required. I would suggest Mr. Hembree if you need to take Dynamics.

Don't waste your time with this scatter brain. He's a nice guy but he seams rather confused in his teaching methods. You could fully understand what you are doing before his lectures and be totally lost afterwards. I definantly DO NOT RECOMMEND this proffesor to anyone. He needs to do us all a favor and RETIRE!

statics sets the fundamentals and foundation for all mechanical engineering in solid mechanics, If you want a good foundation in Mechnical Engineering AVOID taking Statics with this man. Unclear on inclass examples, and doesn't complete problems in full, gets about halfway through the problem and like magic just throws the answer on the board.

Good teacher and really cares for his students. Tests are very difficult and hard to guess what will be on them. Average test scores are in the D range after scaling! Homework due every class.
