Comment:

If you don't want to stress over a class to the point you have to take off from work, do not take this class. I took her for Sociology for my CJ major. I spent 2 to 3 hrs daily doing her homework and prepping for her tests. Her tests were the most difficult tests I've taken. I am a straight A student, and I had to stay up past 2 AM for this class.

Comment:

This is the only class I've ever been at risk of failing. Professor grades on about 8 assignments for the whole course, 5 of which are writing assignments with impossible standards. Writing guidelines are so strict that whatever you turn in will not be good enough. Prof cares 100x more about her specific format guidelines than actual content.

Terrible professor tough grader and doesn't even focus on the content of your work! Don't take an online course with her if it is your first online class ever! All she says is to read the syllabus f you are having trouble with class. Don't recommend it.

At first, I was very nervous; the subject matter sounded difficult and I've read that the professor was tough. By the end of the semester, I was completely glad I took the class. Professor Bohm was caring, very informative, and showed a passion for the subject matter you don't normally get in a college class. One of the best teachers I've had.

Do yourself a favor and read these reviews.... SHE IS A HORRIBLE PROFESSOR hands down and anyone giving her a good review, I wouldn't be surprised if it were actually her doing it. syllabus alone is completely unrealistic. The amount of work for one week is beyond too much. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE your grade and sanity will thank you come grade time

DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. I am a A & B student, never in my life have I had a professor so unethical. She has no empathy towards her student. She does not care what tagged happened in your life. She does not give extra credit & She will make your grade suffer. Wish I wouldve knew about this website. I wouldve dodged a bullet.

Hard class. It doesnt have to be but the instructor grades very tough and makes writing papers very stressful. Focuses more on writing technique than content. Tests are very detailed and you must take excessive notes in order to remember fine details. Didnt enjoy the class, which is unfortunate.

She literally told me to read the book when I raised my hand to ask a question because I did not understand the material. My major is psychology and she almost made me rethink my entire life goal because she just was unwilling to answer any questions.

She has no empathy for her students. The amount of work compared to the grading system in almost unrealistic. Also, when u ask her a question she gives a negative vibe. I took her class accelerated SOC this Spring I barley passed with a B, there is no reason for this course to be this hard. Please think twice be4 takin her classes!

I wish I had read the other reviews. I have all the same things to say as everyone else. Syllabus is ridiculous, everything is outlined to the T how she wants assignments done. She will only accept assignments 5 days late. Not even a whole week. She has so empathy for students. No room for students interpretation of material.

I took an accelerated online diversity class with Prof. Bohm. Her syllabus was 15 pages. You know what you're getting into the first day. Her feedback on assignments was multiple paragraphs. She is a very hard grader. I was anxious turning anything in. Her exam questions are so detailed. It was hard to enjoy the class. Not an easy A.

The tests ask very obscure questions from the reading and answers can be subjective (organizational & structural discrimination). Her grading rubric/requirements for essays care more about structure of essay than content. She arbitrarily deducts points because the hook or thesis isn't exactly what she wants. Could be a good class but she ruins it!

Yes, she does give pop-quizzes, they are stupid hard. Yes, she gives grades on how much or little you participate in class. She is also extremely tough in grading, she takes points off for not explaining 'why' clearly enough. Everyone had a 2000 word essay, and a presentation based on the essay-everyone had the same topic-Get's old and boring!!

Prof. Bohm is horrible. Her syllabus alone is ridiculous, expects you to read about 10 different short stories in a week on top of power points that are completely unrelated to the readings and sometimes video clips. Exams are heavy 60 questions that she only allows 65mins to complete. And she take a very long time to grade papers. AVOID HER CLASS

Do not take her she would give like 50 things to read, and watch a week and only grade you on one thing. There is not a lot of assignments to do and there due days are spread apart but she grade them harshly. The test are only 10 points but very very difficult and have 60 questions. She abousally no help at all. ADVOID DON'T TAKE HER!!!!!

very great and caring professor. i feel like i am close with professor bohm because she is very understanding and smart. She makes the class very fun. although her quizzes are difficult make sure you read and study for tests. she does allow tests to be taken at home which is easier but she is a great professor, highly recommend her

Someone in the registration department told me this would be a good class to take for easy credits. Their job should be taken away. This teacher forces her agenda on you doesnt care about her students and has kicked 3 students out for not viewing her views. Its 5-6 chapters almost everyday and i broke my ankle on a quiz day. Cant make it up.

Her syllabus is insane, tons of reading, articles, and videos every night. Her projects are ridiculous, she forces you to use smartthinking dot com and wont accept work without you going through them first, which means that you have to do papers etc. way before they are due. She managed to ruin what sounded like an extremely interesting class.

I took Dr. Bohm during the summer session. She was an amazing professor. She is extremely personable and positive. She is a tough, but fair professor. She responds to any questions you have promptly. If you put in the work, you will do fine. I would highly recommend Dr. Bohm, and would take another class taught by her.
