Comment:

Gives homework assignments every day that are due next class and make up 60% of your grade. His lectures tend to ramble on and get off-topic, and his assignments are never posted anywhere in writing, only from his rambling lectures and PPT's. No grades posted anywhere until finals. Confusing and would not take again if I could avoid him.

Comment:

Jack Thompson is a character. He is a nice guy, but his lectures tend to ramble and last forever. His assignments can have little to do with the lectures. He loses his place mid-sentence sometimes and forgets what he was saying. Overall, his class feels like a chore, no matter the subject.

He is a nice professor. Labs are stressful because they are all usually due at the end of class, but the majority of times you do work in pairs. Tests are not too bad, but he doe not grade labs/assignments quickly at all. In fact, he still has not told us our grades.

He's a little be the times when it comes to languages used in the real world, but his knowledge of all things computer related is very impressive.

Comment:

Very nice and smart. Gives you plenty of in class assignments to work on in pairs, and some homework assignments. Grades fairly and gives partial credit on tests. Read the chapter before discussing in class, study, and practice; work with files on book's website and you'll do great! Will help you if you need it.

Comment:

I wasn't very impressed with Thompson. You can tell he has taught this class 100 times, and hasn't change a thing since the first time he taught it. Everything is rehearsed, and he has little emotion. He can be helpful when asked, but can be very un-helpful at the same time. Be warned, he expects perfect attendence.

Very pleasant teacher. Knows what he's doing pretty well. Doesn't try to kill you with difficulty, but does test fairly. Grades fairly. A little scattered at times.
