He will lecture to the last minute, so do not expect to be let out early. Allows you to use a reference sheet for the exams, and is pretty helpful when you have questions. However, he changes the numbers really quickly when giving example problems and it's easy to get lost. You can tell he is passionate about finance but it's still a boring class.

He's a great guy with a funny personality but the material is difficult. The reviews and homework are nothing like the exams. If you don't have a book and take this class with him, you will definitely fail. But he is really nice.

If Finance is not your major do not take him, he makes you work extra hard, and if you do not read the book in depth you will not understand the concept and therefore you will not pass the tests. To be honest the test are nothing like the homework questions or lecture. take it at your own risk

This class was extremely difficult and required a lot of outside reading. The professor is very enthusiastic about the subject and loves class participation. Unfortunately the material covered in class isn't in the exam. The questions are very specific, so study study study.

FINA 5400 isn't your typical finance class. It has more to do with economics, and the rules and regulations of financial institutions, rather than quantitative aspects. Find as many practice problems as you can, and go beyond what he actually assigns. The tests are T/F and multiple choice, but they're NOT easy. Still a great professor, though.

Great Professor. I learned a lot in his class. He explained at a level I understood. If your a finance major you need to make sure you know your basics to succeed in other finance courses. Dr. Conover did a great job teaching those basics.

3 total tests in the class with 10 homework assignments. He replaces one of the lowest test grade with the final if the final exam grade is higher. Final was EXTREMELY hard. I would not recommend him.

Awesome teacher! Gives credit for going to class and trys to make it as interesting as possible. Records all of his class lectures and post them on blackboard in case you miss class. Also gives handouts for each chapter. Very easy class and teacher if you at least study the handouts and attend class.

Had Conovor for corporate finance and would definitely recommend him. He was a great teacher and very helpful. He is very intelligent and knows what he is talking about. He gives lots of real life scenarios and makes the class relevant. Must study and do work outside of class but if you do, you will be successful in the class.

Able to take concrete concepts and make them very confusing. Video lecturs rambled on for hours. I did better when I quit watching them. Too many rabbit trails and red herrings in the lectures. Should concentrate on what the final will be on. Too much weight on the final by the way. Stressful.

Very helpful professor! Went out of his way to do video lectures so the material would be easier to understand. Sure beat just reading a textbook! The material is challenging and so is his final. His final was the majority of the final grade, so study!
