I took this class online during the summer. The class was lecture only they were hard to follow, and the class consisted of 4 exams extremely difficult. Knowing the basics is not good enough, you will need to remember word for word specifics from both the text book and online lecture.

Comment:

I took this class online and if you want to pass you have to read the book. He is not one of the professors that goes yeah read the book but his test is only his lectures, half the test questions are from the book. The test you don't take at home so you have to study. Use the study guide he gives you it will help. Overall a good experience.

Comment:

Professor Franke made a difficult course less difficult to pass and was upfront about his expectations regarding coursework. Tests were take-home and there were not quizzes- only exercises every week or so, which were easy if lectures were attended and chapters were read. Solid professor overall.

Lectures a lot, is an easy class if you attend lectures and do the reading. The class itself is not easy, statistics in the latter half, but if you try it's not impossible. He can be a tad odd but it's not a huge deal.

Franke was abysmal. I went to his office several times and always left more confused. He needs to preface the class that its basically a stats course. The final was ridiculous. Lectures were boring. He cold-calls students and won't let up even if you don't have an answer. Borderline belligerent. Worst poli-sci professor at K-State.

This course was not easy. The lectures are outdated and there is a LOT of reading. No study guides to assist with studying for exams, and there is unreasonable amount of material on exams. The lecture are boring and unprofessional, I would not pay for this class- I regret I did.

This was not an easy class at all. Tests are take-home and in essay form. Expect to write at least 10 pages on each. Homework assignments are tedious. Lectures boring and monotonous. Some students are singled out and constantly called upon. Do not take his class if you do not want to do a lot of work. Would reccomend another section to a friend!

Very hard class. You just read,listen to his monotone presentations and test. Provides no study guides, No message boards, chat rooms, no projects or reports. The professor is arrogant, unwilling to help, doesn't respond to emails and doesn't post grades in a timely fashion. This is on professor that I would definately NOT recommend to anyone.

I really like this prof as a person. Very funny guy, easy to get along with. However, his tests are simply killer. I am right now working on his take home final essay. 3 questions long. I am on part 1 of question 1 and am running over 3 pages. This is after I just turned in my term paper. He expects you to work HARD. It is very stressful.

There were only 3 grades in this class: midterm, final, and term paper. The finals were take home but very difficult. Only a small percentage of the class got A's. Good guy but can come off as a jerk because he picks on kids for answers. Find a place to hide if you dont like being called on.

He is a very funny teacher. I really enjoy the class periods. You will have to study a lot, because there will be no study guides for the test and the test is over minor details and not the big idea. But, you will learn a lot and the class is very enjoyable. It's just hard, but you have to get used to it sometime. So start with a good teacher.

Took this online. Taped lectures reminded me of Indiana Jones but were very useful and very information packed. I really enjoyed this class and felt it was a great investment of time.

This is definitely a hard class, but you learn A LOT. Class attendance and completion of the readings are necessary. The overall grade is based on 4 tests. The final isn't cumulative. Each test is curved to make the overall average a 75%.

Tests are hard and too detailed. I read all his stupid articles in the Claflin reader and it did me no good. He calls people out in class and makes them answer questions, then makes them feel stupid and is a jerk when they get them wrong. This class is killing my GPA bc the only grades are 4 tests
