The lectures covered a lot of information. The readings were easy. Tests were straight from the notes and you got the chance to get points back on your tests.

Don't take ANTH260 unless you are really interested in the subject. Expects you to spend 9+ hours in preparing for the 200-level class. My upper-level classes are easier than this class. Syllabus takes about final grade being increased but it will only be like 4 points. Makes personal comments about study habits when she doesn't know the student.

Dr. Ritterbush is by far one of the best professors I've ever had. She knows her material well. You have to go to lecture or you won't do well. She offers extra credit with every test, so you have 4 chances to get extra credit. She is extremely intelligent and I highly recommend her.

One of my favorite professors. Really understanding if you have life stuff going on, as I was majorly ill during her class, but does not let you slack. She wants you to learn the material and makes sure you do. She is a great teacher! I always learn so much from her classes. I really recommend her to anyone, as her lessons go beyond the classroom.

Lectures are interesting, she spends lots of time elaborating on slides, not just reading them. No book but she assigns lots of online reading, though usually they aren't very long, sometimes less than a page. You take the test twice, once as normal and a second time in small groups for extra credit. 1-2 short quizzes/unit, announced in advance.

Love's it when you come in for extra help and uses different teaching styles to engage students. However, her class isn't a walk through the park, and make sure you take detailed notes. Overall good experience, but her class wasn't as easy as I'd expected.

Professor Ritterbush is an amazing professor. Her tests aren't easy but she is willing to help. She knows the subject matter well and is an amazing person in general. I would recommend this class to everyone. The nice thing is that she knows textbooks are expensive so she doesn't require you to buy one.

She is very passionate about Archaeology which helps us learn better. However, her lectures go from bell to bell every class. She makes it hard for us to look forward to class and her tests are challenging.

Be prepared to invest time in this class! The test are hard. She hands out study guides, but they can be up to 30 pages long! Use her office hours and study sessions! She really is a wonderful teacher and makes the class interesting, but this is not some course you can get an easy "A" OR "B" in. Have SOME interest before the class.

Ridiculously long, vague study guides that were of no use, boring class to sit through, only tests & quizzes, if you have text anxiety-prepare to fail. Not other way to make up points. Last exam average: 57% -Doesn't curve. The tests:nit-picky ?s that are on the verge of being trick questions. If you don't have an eidetic memory, don't take it.

Absolutely fantastic teacher! Some of the tests are tricky, but if you go to class, take notes, and give yourself some time to study before the tests they are a breeze. I learned TONS and had fun doing it. She uses powerpoint as a backbone to what she is saying, so write down more than what is posted.

Intro to Archaeology and Pre-history. Not a linear class in terms of time periods. Back and forth in time to learn different cultures and all are on the tests together. Definitely willing to work with your scheduling conflicts. Make friends in the class! Study groups with her study guides are the very best! You will need it.
