Dr. Hammons is knowledgeable and has a lot of experience. He does require more work than other professors and his expectations are often unclear. However, if you are willing to work hard, you won't have any problem. He has a lot of time for students.

Dr. Hammons is an incredible instructor. He's an expert. Students who don't get along w/ Hammons tend to be disrespectful. He makes my doctorate have value. He is rigorous(a doctorate should be). His class is a LOT of work, but the learning is just as incredible. It's not busy work. They just don't like to work. Is he arrogant? Sure. So are we.

I did learn some good things from him, but I learned quickly that you should write down things he says because later he will claim he would never say such a thing. Also, he is very arrogant and I got very tired of him talking about how great he is. If he likes the way you write - good. If not, you will never please him.

Less than quality experience. Not what I expected in a graduate level seminar. Will stay on the other side of the campus in the future. Huge waste of time listening to a self-important guy self-promote. Little management expertise and what there was borrowed and shopworn.

Could be very engaging, but is the expert on everything. Cannot withstand a challenge and holds a grudge if you do challenge him. Miserable human being, which makes him a horrible mentor/instructor.

This man is UNREAL. You will be kicking your fellow students under the table when he starts telling you what an expert he is on every subject. He is a control freak who sexually discriminates against women. Don't even THINK of asking him to be your doctoral advisor,it will be THE worst mistake you will ever make in your life.

I never knew what was expected of me in class even though he always emphasized clarity, and he thinks highly of himself. Be prepared to share publishing credit with him if you're a graduate student.
