Rude. Hard to follow and is not helpful even when students meet with him to discuss problems. I learned nothing from this course and had to retake.

He finds interesting ways to make his students care about the content. He doesn't make this class easy, but makes it hard for one not to learn. Good Luck at Huntington!

I love this man! I wish I were able to take him for World Lit. II, but my schedule won't work with the section he's teaching. You can write what you want with some limitations, but it's really not bad at all. I really hate doing papers, but I didn't mind going to his class. Very good teacher.

Dr. Truman is the best. That's all you can really say. I took him for World Lit 1 in the fall last year and messed up my spring schedule just so I could take his World II class. He's that good. His class is extremely interesting. Dr. Truman is a hard teacher but very fair. Go to class. You won't want to miss!

Talks a lot and seems to be a moody person. He brings up some interesting points from time to time but for non english majors, I wouldn't suggest taking him. His grading style is kind of strange. Very inconsistant.

He's a good teacher. He's knowledgeable about his movie facts and books. He made us write daily reports, which I didn't enjoy, but it does keep you on track with your daily readings. If you have any questions, just ask him. He's helpful. On a sidenote, he does check this site to see what people say about him, which I find amusing.

Not an easy A class, but def. easy if you like to read and are interested in the class. This guy is pretty funny and has the best memory I've ever seen. Use pop culture in your daily readings and you'll do great.

Yup. I gotta agree. This guy likes to hear himself talk and he is very opinionated. He's also a little elitist. I didn't expect that from someone labled here as a liberal.

Very high expectations. You have to turn in a one page paper everyday on what you read. This class did improve my "in depth" reading skills, but it was stressful.

I improved in my writing skills because of this class. He wants you to get the reader pulled into your paper by using personal experiences and observations. If you you make an abstract statement that refers to your belief, SHOW and tell why you think so using a detailed, specific, real-world example.

Fun class to just sit there. But beware, he grades his papers hard. And not on grammer but your ideas. Which is a little bias cinsidering some people cant come up with these amazing theroies. Mid-terms are also mostly easy. Dont take unless very creative. Other wise you will make a C with little effort.

He is very helpful. If you have intriguing reading responses, he expects a lot from you. I could never quite put my finger on what he expected of me, but he was really helpful with my papers. He asks the tough questions and it is interesting to think about, but it is also hard to write about... so good luck on the essays! He's also funny.
