Dr. Janet Dilling is a very knowledgeable professor. There was a significant amount of work in her class. I found the tests were graded harshly with no feedback on why answers were wrong. A review of the tests would have been very helpful.

Comment:

I just finished my certificate in EMHS, and three of the classes were with Dr. Dilling, who is a joy to work with and very knowledgable about the field. She was probably the most helpful professor I've had at FSU and is very easy to contact if you run into trouble in any of her courses.

Comment:

Grade consisted of a few reading quizzes, some case studies, a paper, and an online presentation. Dr. Dilling is really caring, and helped me out when I messed up on an assignment. She is very understanding and gives fair grades! I would absolutely recommend Dr. Dilling.

Comment:

Dr. Dilling is one of the most chill professors ever. Her stories are interesting as she incorporates them in the lectures. 2 exams, 2 quizzes, 3 FEMA certifications, 3 Case Studies, 1 Book Report, 1 YouTube vid, and occasional DB's. All easy assignments that require minimal effort. I would take her again with any other course. Love her!

Easy class. I took it at the same time as PAD4391 and ended up with a higher grade in PAD4393. Theres a 20 page paper due at the end of the semester, but its mostly just a composition of previous assignments and isn't too hard. Super lenient grader, just show effort and you'll get an A.

Good teacher. She tries to make her videos entertaining. Lots of papers, even an 8-10 page paper. some quizzes and two exams. Offers a teeny tiny bit of extra credit.

Interesting women, good power points, you need to know some about Disaster Management to do good, she gives extra credit assignments and other training and scholarship opportunities. Good caring professor.

I'm getting an A in this class and have not done any of the weekly readings or looked over her power points. Most of the test questions/answers can be found online. The FEMA certifications take a lot of time but is so cool to have on a resume. There's a book report, project, and case studies (need textbook for them) that are super easy too

This class is very easy, although there is A LOT of work. However the subject matter is interesting and the assignments/exams are not that difficult. I would recommend this class to anyone! This class is a hidden gem.

This class had an insane amount of work. Sometimes 20+ hours a week, even though I have a full schedule and job. Interesting material, but tons of work. That's not even counting the tons of reading and powerpoints. Would be better in person, not online.

Take any class you can with Janet!! She is wonderful and is so helpful! Her class is enthralling and she cares so much about her students and how they do in her class. As long as you study and turn your work in on time, you will get an A! One of the top 5 teachers at FSU.

grade consists of 2 quizes, 1 late term test, 1 speech, and att. and participation. quizes are hard and require alot od studying, but there not heavily weighted. the review is the test , so if you know the review very well u will ace the test. no final. easy 2 min speech and a fun EASY class assignment worth 15%. good teacher good class
