Comment:

Taking the course online has been great. She cares and works with your schedule. Our practice sessions consist of learning pronunciation and she provides great feedback on homework. The text is quite helpful and she is willing to help you if you ask. Be prepared to work for your grade. FL courses are meant to be challenging.

Comment:

Janette is a great professor! There are students in my class, who think Janette is not a good professor. However, these students don't know what to expect from a language class, and they believe that college should take no effort whatsoever. A good grade takes hard work. Janette is very helpful, nice and fun to be around. Relevant lectures!

Most comments are accurate. She's hilarious, awesome person, not great instructor. She gets off topic, doesn't manage one well AT all. Teaching about sections (that'll you'll need for that night's h.w.) as you're walking out the door. Very unorganized: didn't give me credit (in her books) for assignments she graded that had her handwriting on.

I love Janette. She does bounce off the walls, but usually keeps class interesting and has a truly excellent grasp of French. If you try to participate she will work with you to help you improve. Lots of homework, but all over material gone through in class. Don't take this as a blow off credit or if you're not interesting in SPEAKING French!

Madame is so much fun! I was worried after reading so many bad reviews on here, but listen to me: she is amazing! I don't see how anyone could have a bad time in her class! There is a good bit of homework, but nothing you can't handle if you try. Seriously though, Madame Funaro is the best! Take a class with her!

I absolutely love french! However, Janette can be very harsh. My issue with her is, she accused me of cheating and lying, she hates friendships in class. honestly she seems a bit bipolar but maybe she is just unhappy in her personal life. I would never take her as a teacher again horrible!

Honestly, if you don't have an interest in French, don't take her class. She teaches quickly, but she is more than willing to help you. Everyone says she picks on student, but she only makes comments when students make idiotic remarks. Overall, I think she is a good teacher that doesn't want to deal with lazy students that don't care.

Funaro is ridiculous. She comes off kind of quirky, but nice, at first, but it all depends on her mood of the day. I had a rough semester, and after getting back from a funeral she still expected me to take an exam, and refused to allow me to take it in the testing center the next day. If you miss more than a couple classes, you're screwed.

I liked her overall as a teacher. She goes very quickly, and you must attend class regularly to get a good grade. PAY ATTENTION! She gives you lots of hints of test material during class. Stay on her good side because those who were on her bad in my class, dropped. Keep up and stay interested and you will enjoy the class! Jannette knows her stuff!

I've read the comments on here AFTER trying on this course. I should have read the comments beforehand because she seriously wasted my time. Made me feel like I was just another face. Would waste class time talking about her kitty cats, and was extremely dry and stale with the way she taught the class, when she could have been fun/upbeat! AWFUL!

if she is in a good mood class is very laid back and she is somewhat entertaining. if she is in a bad mood, watch out. her grading is usually logical and reasonable for a foreign language class. somewhat scatter-brained. not terrible at giving back work but could be better. attendance isn't mandatory, but if you skip you will miss assignments...

Very difficult teacher. Does not plan time well and uses the entire class time when what she has to say could be condensed if she didn't stray off the subject with personal stories so much, so studying really does not result in good test scores. Not recommended.

I had a great time in this class. If you're not dedicated and willing to learn, you'll hate it. If you have an interest and want to actually LEARN French, it's great!!!
