IF CINEMA IS NOT YOUR MAJOR OR MINOR PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF. This guy is very into theater and cinema. If youre not into it as much as he is you probably will not receive an A. A lot of people take this class thinking itll be fun and an easy A and fulfillment of a humanities credit. NO IT IS NOT. He is a nit picker to the max. Save yourself

Comment:

Not a bad professor at all. Clearly passionate about what he teaches. Every Wednesday morning we watched a movie, then next class the following Monday we would discuss. Test content is clearly laid out. Homework is not difficult, but the papers are a little bit more challenging.

Overall very good professor, you watch a film every week and then the next class you discuss it and go over the answers to the homework. He really gets the whole class engaged in discussions. As long as you do the assignments and participate, you will do well in his class. There are 3 exams, not difficult and he specifies what will be on them.

Took him for an online cinema class. Instructions are clear, since it is an online class there are weekly forums you have to post on, and reply to classmates too. Quizzes are easy, however his papers are hard. If youre into movies, and dont mind writing about them. This class will be the one for you.

I took this class online so I was able to fit all the work in and watch the movies on my time and yes it was a lot of work for a humanities elective. That being said, this is college not highschool so you get out what you put in. Expectations are clearly defined. It is not an easy A, but if you keep track of due dates &do the work you will be fine.

2 exams, weekly HW, a midterm, and a final. His grading fro the homework is probably the worst. Attendance is mandatory. He asks for a book but you really do not use it all. With no book the exams are easy if you study the flashcards he provides. Some movies you watch in class, you probably are going to fall asleep.

This professor is ridiculous. He grades 1 out of 5 if you get a 3 youre failing. A lot of work was put in the homework and he gives complete BS grading. Dont take this guy Im afraid of my grade at the end of the semester. Totally regretful of this. Absolutely absurd. Horrible horrible.

He is a pretty good guy but I personally didn't like the class. The movies didn't exactly interest me and taking it at 8am was an even bigger mistake. He's definitely a hard grader on homework and essays.

The online version of this class is really straight-forward, and the professor gives everyone ample warning if they are not fulfilling the deadlines. Reading the textbook is the toughest part, but as long as you do and then log in and do the assignments on time (which are mostly only a paragraph - only 2 full essays), the class is a breeze.

I have taken online courses and the teachers are usually considerate and talk to you and understaand when you are having difficulties. This teacher is terrible with helping and understanding. Probably the worst online class I have ever taken and the worst teacher I have ever had to top it off. DO NOT TAKE HIM. Not worth it and will ruin your gpa.

I'm not sure I agree with previous comments entirely. It's as simple as comming to class, doing the required reading, watching the screening, Taking notes & studying everything presented in class. The papers are just as easy or hard as you make them be. He loves participation as it shows you are learning. Problem is people still act like kids in HS

Likewise with previous review. Very rude! If he sees anyone with phone out he lowers grades. Treats all students like they are in HS. One student even asked to go to the bathroom since he was afraid what prof would do if he walked out. You stay after each exam you are not allowed to leave early. I could go on. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM.

He has 3 tests (fairly easy) 2 reaction papers and homework. Review sheets before every exam and study and you'll pass. But, my main criticism is that he is extremely rude. If you leave early on a screening day even if it is for a bathroom break you are NOT allowed to come back. I could go on, but take him if and only if you have to.

Prof is serious about this class and it is good that he is. Whether it is an elective or major - the grade counts. If you do the work, you'll pass. You can tell he loves film and he is very passionate about it. This is not my major but I don't mind the class. You watch a movie than answer questions on it. Just make sure you study for the tests. He is a tough grader on homework and papers. Tests he seems to be fair. only negitive is when you ask a questions he literally laughs at you..
